Paul McCartney tribute concert coming March 15 at Carnegie Hall.
https://kslx.com/graham-nash-b.....e-concert/
Since none of us will be around to verify this...I say that the world will still be having tribute concerts for the music of McCartney and all the Beatles in the year 2323. Little kids will still be growing up singing Yellow Submarine
and will progress into the Beatles canon.

I could not agree more @Ahhh Girl. By coincidence, my Grandson's high school school band placed first in a festival at Disneyland last year. The prize is taking part in a Carnegie Hall concert, which is also scheduled for this March.

I was fortunate to be there. My favorite - by far- was Sammy Rae's rendition of Heart Of The Country . Her voice is fabulous. Alas, you can't really tell from the video posted above. I'd never heard of her before

I have to say I really admire Paul’s strength and personal leadership after the breakup, doing the legal action against the other three because of Klein. Massive balls for Paul to do this in the face of that criticism. He wasn’t the bad guy and he did have their best interests at heart. John and Ringo admitted he was right. George didn’t comment about it, but I suspect he agreed too.

I'm seeing Paul and Ringo in the AARP Bulletin so often, maybe I should start a thread for it. LOL.

part of Jon Bon Jovi's interview with the Bulletin...
Keep on inspiring others, Paul!
Lessons from a F---ing Beatle
Along with his vocal struggles, Bon Jovi has faced teh conundrum of how to age gracefully in a young person's game. In this, he has some help...Another is Paul McCartney , who has, to Bon Jovi's delight and astonishment, become a close friend. The rocker shows me a recent photo of the two of them eating and talking animatedly at a picnic table on Bon Jovi's property in East Hampton, New York. "We do this all summer," he says, his tone tinged with disbelief. "I'm sitting there with a f---ing Beatle. He comes to my house often. I go to his beach house often, and our wives are very close." What most impresses him about Paul is the enthusiasm and love of songwriting that the Beatle still possesses. He slips into an imitation of McCartney's Liverpool accent and childlike enthusiasm: " 'Oh, I've got new stuff!' he tells me. At 81. Crazy."

Being a pretty big fan of Phish and other jam bands who play a different setlist each night, I often hear comparisons to other bands that keep the same setlist for an entire tour. Particularly people will bring up the Baker's Dozen, where Phish played 13 nights at MSG with no repeat songs. While thats wildly impressive and I'm not sure any other band could pull that off, I don't hear anybody talking about Paul doing 50 years of shows, with repeats. Nearly 50 years of consistent solo touring - Let It Be , Hey Jude Yesterday , Maybe I'm Amazed , Band On The Run , played at virtually every show. That is almost more impressive to me. He is such a pro, not only playing them for so many years so many times, but delivering great performances, one after another into his 80s, particularly songs like Maybe I'm Amazed and Band On The Run which have insanely difficult vocal parts.

In a groundbreaking career which has seen Paul win countless awards and receive some of the world’s most prestigious honours - today marks a career first as The Royal Mint launches an official Paul McCartney coin.
The coin features Paul’s iconic Magic Piano as well as several references to his record-breaking career - including piano notes personally chosen by Paul, a Höfner Violin Bass guitar and the Wings logo.
The design was officially approved by Paul and marks the first time he has appeared on an official UK coin. The £5 coin collection is available in a range of finishes, as well as coloured editions which brings the Magic Piano to life for fans.
"This feels like a huge honour. It’s not anything I would have ever expected to happen when I was a kid." - Paul
Paul is one of the most successful British musicians and songwriters of all time. As a member of both The Beatles and Wings, he became a rock ‘n’ roll superstar, but his continued work as a solo artist has cemented him as one of the greatest artists in history. Paul has just completed the South American leg of his acclaimed Got Back tour - which saw him play to over 500,000 people in eight countries. The tour has just started its European leg and will finish the year with home shows in Manchester and London later this month.
Inspired by Paul’s use of pennies as guitar picks in the early days, The Royal Mint has also created a special edition plectrum shaped version of the coin to gift to Paul. The one-off plectrum has been produced using sustainable gold, recovered from e-waste at The Royal Mint’s factory in South Wales.
Rebecca Morgan, Director of Commemorative Coin at The Royal Mint said, “Our coins recognise the greatest icons and events in British history, so it’s fitting that Paul McCartney
’s remarkable music career is now celebrated on an official UK coin. What makes this coin extra special is that Paul has been involved throughout the design process. The coin celebrates elements from throughout his solo career, and we hope fans will enjoy the layered references
to songs, instruments and bands.”
In early 2025 The Royal Mint will offer fans the chance to own a unique piece of history, auctioning a signed, gold edition of Paul’s coin. The bespoke gold coin weighs five kilos and took over 250 hours to make, including three days of hand polishing. It was signed by Paul during his 2024 Got Back tour in Paris and will be auctioned alongside four silver five kilo editions.
The Paul McCartney collectable coin is available as limited-edition precious metal proof finishes, Brilliant Uncirculated and colour versions. To view the full collection, visit The Royal Mint’s website, prices start from £15.50.
