and once they are gone you cannot say how much you appreciate them or how good they are at what they do.
It’s easier to tell others how great someone is when that someone is not there, harder when they are around. It’s strange.

Absolutely. I think it’s because we fear what could happen after we say something. We’re shy so we say nothing. And perhaps we feel like we’d tell the person when they’re not there. But if they did re-appear, would we really have the guts?
