I thought there was a thread on this but I can’t find it…
I have watched chunks of this movie out of curiosity.
It’s a made for TV movie and the acting isn’t good.. it’s somewhat accurate, but one thing that I think is off is Paul calling her “Lin” through most of the movie. Did he call actually her that? I’ve never heard it before.
If anyone is curious, it’s on YouTube:
"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been.. I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene.. Banjos! Banjos! All the time, I can't forget that tune.. and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

After reading “Many Years From Now” by Barry Miles, I was agree that he DID always call her “Lin” – or most of the time any way. That was also stated in the other bio I read about Paul called “Fab” (can’t think of the authors name just now). I just assumed he did. The Beatles seemed big on nicknames

Interesting! I read that whole book I must have totally forgotten that part.

Yep it’s true She also became a vegetarian after making the film in respect for Linda.
But they do get bonus points for showing Martha and the Apple Scruffs

Well I think that’s going a bit far, isn’t it? Surely you should do it because you think it’s wrong, not because someone else did.

Going vegetarian is going too far? We can always use more. Also, when you play somebody, sometimes you learn a lot about the person to better get into the role. In the process of learning about Linda I am sure she learned about why Linda became a vegetarian. As someone who has considered Linda my hero for many years for being such a pioneer in that department, I’d say it would be hard not to be influenced by that opinion.

^^ Sorry, maybe I worded that wrongly. I think you know, I’m a vegetarian too. I have been since I looked at my meat dinner and realised I might as well be eating my sister, it’s just the same… aged 12. I just meant that this person has become a veggie in honour of Linda? Surely that’s not the right reason? You’re probably right, though. I guess they just came to realise the ethical reason why Linda was a vegetarian thanks to her and working on this doc.
Linda was certainly an activist for Vegetarianism, and I think she inspired a lot of people to do the same as her. You’re right, I think more people should see it’s not right to eat an animal just because it can’t tell you to stop.

There will be a new PR/advertising campaign
to promote the new ‘Inspired by Linda’ campaign, which encourages consumers to try the products whether they are vegetarian or not. It begins this month.
The brand, founded by Sir Paul McCartney ‘s ex-wife who died in 1988, has been owned by Luton-based food company Hain Daniels Group since 2011.
Tessa Willmott, managing director of Wild Card, said: “Eating vegetarian is the norm with so many new-world ingredients and food trends that are meat-free. With ‘Inspired by Linda’ we have developed a campaign reaching both vegetarians and the millions of consumers who seek to eat less meat as part of a healthy lifestyle choice.”
I think it is cool that they are reaching out to non-vegetarians who might just want to eat a little less meat. I’m glad they didn’t take a “more holy than thou” angle.

Same here. I’ve also been given vegetarian burgers to eat (not a supermarket cheapy range but good ones) and again they were tasteless. I dont see the point if i have to add 25 ingredients when i have a burger for it to taste of anything; I had a minted lamb burger a couple of days ago and it was amazing.

So..should I watch this thing? Is the acting really as artrocious as people make it out to be?
It’s pretty atrocious, yeah. Though reasonably accurate, there are also some glaring “artistic liberties”, and the acting is pretty bad. The guy playing Paul is trying way too hard; he bears a fair resemblance to him though.
