That is incredible! Thanks, Mith. I wish I was there. The general audience certainly doesn’t seem to have turned against Paul in Britain. And the whole stadium singing All You Need Is Love ? Could the Olympics Games elicit any better response than that? ( although great thanks goes to that person who played it)

Has anybody else heard that the comedian Russel somebody or another is going to do a coic version of ‘I Am The Walrus ‘? What an insult! I know the song was meant to be nonsensical and funny in a way but I think this will be a step too far.

5 Beatles or solo Beatle songs in the closing ceremony.
“Because ” was the first song, sung by a choir.
A dance troupe danced to the transitions and Paul’s part in ADitL
The choir sang the introduction to the Love version of Here Comes The Sun .
Imagine was probably the highlight of the show.
Russell Brand did I Am The Walrus . To be fair, he probably did it quite well… it’s just he was surrounded by dancers not wearing very much and looking ridiculous.

I think the whole night was a liitle bit of an insult to certain musical geniuses – Jessie J getting to sing with Queen? and obviuously Brand’s version of ‘I Am The Walrus ‘ which wasn’t bad but I think a bit wrong after playing ‘Imagine ‘.

May and Taylor seem to be constantly trying to find new ways to embarrass themselves. In the past few months they have collaborated with Adam Lambert (I think he was on a talent show in America), Dappy from N-Dubz (who added an extra verse to We Will Rock You about “banging your mother”) and now Jessie J. No wonder Deacon left them.

I thought Brand was godawful, but then I hate his comedy too so I’m not the most objective as far as that goes.
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

Why are May and Taylor “sullying” themselves by collaborating with new singers? I actually thought Jessie J sounded pretty good. New people are going to come along. Love them or hate them…who cares? If Queen wants to sing with Jessie J, let them. If Paul were to perform with One Direction, let him. I think it’s a good way to pass on a legacy. You try to share what you know and teach a new generation. If they learn, great. More good music. If they don’t, it’s no skin off my back.
I hope all these new singers take control of their music and become as big an inspiration to a new generation as The Beatles are to me. They may be creative geniuses one day, but they aren’t going to get anywhere if all people do is shoot them down.

Well, you never know, looks can be decieving. I doubt you’re wrong though.
And also, they didn’t get to choose what they sang(or who they sang with) so maybe May and Taylor weren’t very happy about singing with Jessie J either, I don’t know.
