I’d like to ask Paul how he felt meeting his idols and if he had trouble expressing what they meant to him. Also I’d ask if he can relate that feeling to when he meets his own fans. Also what would he say if he could have met Buddy Holly or Eddie Cochrane?

I just submitted this to “You Gave me the Answer”.

^^ Thanks for the input acmac!

Paul, several of us have dreamed up a concert tour for you where you would play in smaller venues and perform only songs from your solo albums. Would you like some help putting together the set list for the concerts?

You would. OK. Your fans here on the Beatles Bible forum would be glad to assist you. I’ll go first. The others can chime when they get a chance.

From Chaos and Creation: English Tea, Follow Me, and This Never Happened Before

From Electric Arguments: Sing the Changes, Life Long Passion, Is This Love?

From Driving Rain : Your Way, Heather, Your Loving Flame

From Off The Ground : Off The Ground , Winedark Open Sea, C’mon People

From Flowers In The Dirt : My Brave Face, This One, Put It There

From Press To Play : Press, Stranglehold, Move Over Busker

From Tug Of War : Tug Of War , Take It Away, Wanderlust

From Ram : Smile Away , Monkberry Moon Delight , The Back Seat Of My Car

From Flaming Pie : Calico Skies, Beautiful Night, The Songs We Were Singing

From McCartney: Junk (not the singalong version), Lovely Linda, Teddy Boy (I can’t ask for Kreen-Akroe because I couldn’t be in public when you do that middle “breathing” part)

I’m sure Abe, Rusty, Wix, and Brian would back you up.

Now that New is out, I will add: Early Days , Road, Turned Out (though I have several runners up on this album. so hard to choose.)

{snip}

Another question: What are your thoughts on the changes in race relations in the United States since from the time you toured here with The Beatles in the 1960s and now?

Egypt Station: Happy With You and Dominoes (that is only if you can’t/won’t do the whole album for us a-hard-days-night-george-10)

Wow, that race relations question is very pertinent now.

I would ask him “Why do a lot of your post Beatles songs seem to be written about Jane Asher?” Could I ask two questions?? If so, I would ask “In your movie
Give My Regards To Broad Street ” why did the girl in the tea cup, the woman in the meet, the secretary, the main dancer, Tracy Ullman and the girl at the lake scene all wear red wigs or dye their hair red?  Oh, and in the video of “My Ever Present Past” why did you have all 16 dancers wear red wigs?” And, “The day your divorce from Heather Mills was final and you did that interview of how much you missed Linda in an attempt to clean up your PR image, the very next day, Heather did not say a word, but she dyed her hair red. What is it with your obsession with red hair, Sir Paul? Your fans would be very interested in hearing your response. Especially me!”

@Lisa001, you pose questions that I have never considered before. I need to give it some thought, as your premise shines a new light on Paul’s relationship with Linda. To tell you the truth, my memory of Jane from the 60s does not include her red hair. Instead I remember how cute they were together in pictures and how short her mini dresses were (Swinging London) and her brother who waits for his true love’s smile.

Linda was a bit strawberry blonde, and Paul’s mother was red-headed as well. It seems Paul may have a bit of a thing for redheads – I can’t blame him, I always liked red hair myself.

Lisa001 has a point. Take for instance the original lyrics for ‘Live And Let Die ‘ –

When you were young and your mother was a music teacher,

you used to say, ‘shut up Peter, you git’

You know you did, you know you did, you know you did.

See also ‘Maybe I’m Amazed

Janey, I’m amazed that you thought it wasn’t cool

Maybe you forgot that I was Beatle Paul

Janey, I’m amazed at the way caught me with that chick,

with her hand around my (*unintelligible*)

Janey I’m amazed that it took you so long to catch me.

From what I have read and the pictures I have seen, I think Jane was so beautiful and classy. When Cox did the interview on his “Linda tapes” I was curious when he said Linda spoke “quite negative” about Jane. I thought after 20 years of marriage, why would Linda be speaking about Jane? They never met. Then, Paul purchased the tapes, of course, and I was left curious. That’s when I went to his songs. OMG! Still going through them. It would shock you. So much so, we should start a forum of songs Paul wrote for Jane. I found it odd that Linda was name as co-writer on a lot of these songs. However, I researched it and Paul schemed to put her name on the credits so that his publisher would not get any money. They went to court and it was settled out of court.

I did not know about this one! This is so telling, because Paul is actually admitting that Jane caught him with Francie. Where did you read this? As for his songs about Jane, I mentioned to someone we should start a forum of songs Paul wrote for Jane and lyrics to support. There’s so many. My goodness, I bet 70% of the songs he wrote are about Jane. Perhaps more.

Some lucky redditors got the chance to do just this tonight!

I asked a couple of questions, but so did about 10k other people so unsurprisingly Sir Paul is sadly still unaware of my existence.

He gave some great insight into a few tracks from McCartney III . Also, he’s a fan of Monopoly and Peaky Blinders.

I’m singer/songwriter Paul McCartney and I just released my new album McCartney III on Friday. AMA!

When Linda had that C-section with Stella, you were praying and had a vision of angel wings. You aren’t know to be a religious person. Who were you praying to? Did you make any promises in those prayers…if “you” will just let them be ok, I will ________________.

Hi Paul,

When you’re sat at your guitar or strumming your piano, do you ever play a few chords and think ‘that’s a nice sequence, I’ll try and write a song around them’, only to realise you’re basically playing ‘Band On The Run ‘ or ‘Hey Jude ‘ again?

I had this thought this morning while listening. Paul has written hundreds of songs. How does he continue to come up with new melodies/lyrics after sixty-five years of writing?

Paul, you might be the most interviewed person in the history of humanity. For years you’ve been asked over and over again what you felt about hugely emotional events in your life. Do you think this has kept wounds open for you?

My hot take is that after the Beatles split they went down the paths of spiritualism, solipsism, alcoholism, and Paul McCartney

Somewhat of an answer can be found surmised from the lyrics of Early Days

Now everybody seems to have their own opinion
Who did this and who did that
But as for me I don’t see how they can remember
When they weren’t where it was at

And they can’t take it from me if they try
I lived through those early days

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8 Unfortunately I’ve yet to see Paul answer a challenging question on these things, or his monthly You Gave Me the Answer question spot.

It’s usually bland questions selected that are answered with the same responses we’ve heard a million times before.

Such a shame paul-mccartney-facepalm_gifwhy bother taking questions if you’re going to select bland ones?
