The pictures are really good @Mademoiselle Kitty >^..^<, Paul looks really relaxed. Love the one where Paul is playing (‘Something ‘ presumably) and two pics of George are behind him.

Melt. Not sure how I will get any work done today. There’s 8 hours worth of looking to do in those pictures.

Woah, they’re fantastic! You must have brought one of those superfancy camera’s because judging from the zoomed out pictures, you weren’t as close to the stage as other pictures would suggest. Great.

Thanks. I really don’t think they’re that good, to be honest. But they do bring back great memories. I was in seat 88, so about halfway between the stage and the back of the floor.
It’s a Sony CyberShot HX60V, it did cost quite a bit, but it’s just a compact camera. I didn’t dare bring my Nikon DSLR. That’s not a professional camera either, but they can be iffy about detachable lenses. Security was very relaxed, so I probably would have been allowed to take it inside, but that’s hindsight.
I’m quite sad to see the 1:1 photos, because there’s so much distortion. I still might try and have some of the sharper ones printed once I’ve retouched them, though.

Sorry this is a bit late…
I’m looking through @Mademoiselle Kitty >^..^<‘s photos, and they’re incredible!!! It’s funny how one minute he looks every day of 72, and the next minute he looks about thirty-three and a third.
Paul’s playing in South Carolina TONIGHT You have NO IDEA how badly I wish I was in Colombia, SC right now.

@meanmistermustard I’m surprised by the length of the soundcheck – especially considering the length of his shows.
I wonder if it needs to be that long or if he doesn’t mind playing 4 hours a night!

I would presume Paul’s love of playing is down to the length of soundcheck; its either he rattles off some tunes or sit backstage having a chat. Also cant folk pay more and get into the soundcheck (I think @Ahhh Girl got to see one) so there is that putting on a show for the few who opt to pay more for extra Paul.

Wow! That soundcheck alone is as long (if not longer than) some bands’ entire concert! I saw a Who setlist the other day, and that was 19 songs too.
Since the concert setlist was a lot shorter than usual here, I’d guess his soundcheck isn’t usually that long. But I really want to go to one of Paul’s soundchecks now….
@meanmistermustard Yes, you can buy tickets for the soundcheck. They come with some exclusive goodies, and it’s a lot of money which is why I didn’t go for it when I had the chance. I regret that now.

New tour dates are usually added here: https://www.facebook.com/PaulM…..ney/events. There don’t seem to be any plans for new tour dates. My guess would be the Out There tour has run its course, and a new album may be in the works, Or at least, that’s what I’m hoping 🙂

Hey everyone! It’s been almost a year since I was last here and I’m really sorry about that. It happened so that I got to see Paul perform last night, and of course this is the first place I thought of to share my story.
Well, long story short of how it all came to be in the first place: my fairy godfather a.k.a. my best friend lives in Sweden, and he made my biggest dream come true yesterday — he arranged everything so I could go and see Paul live in Stockholm! I’ve been here in Sweden for a week now, and he has spoiled me like I’ve never been spoiled, but nothing can even begin to compare to what I experienced last night.
To begin with, the Ericsson Globe is an excellent place for concerts. It’s actually the second concert I’ve been to there, and here’s a one angle of it on this picture:
We had excellent seats, fifth row — seat 71 was mine, to be more precise. I didn’t expect we’d be so close to the stage! Unlike all the other concerts I’ve been to (although there’s not many), it wasn’t boring at all to wait for the show to begin, because there was this great slide show on a large screen and so much Beatles and Wings music in the background. I was wearing my Beatles shirt and the minute we sat down in our seats is when my first tears came, and there was an elderly couple who sat next to us, and a mother and son in front of us, and they were all looking at me with big smiles on their faces and all I said was, “This is the Beatles feeling, isn’t it?” and they all agreed.
When Paul came to the stage and opened the show with Eight Days A Week , all I could think was, “Alright, this is it, the real Paul McCartney from the real Beatles, enjoy it as much as you can,” and my heart was pounding and I was singing along every line. And it just seemed to last forever. He went on with Save Us and then Got To Get You Into My Life , which surprised me because it’s one of my favorite songs on Revolver and for some reason I didn’t expect him to play that one at all, and I stood up from my seat and danced like crazy. He then said, “This is the first song I wrote with John,” and of course went on with One After 909 , which I recorded (as well as at least half of the show) with my crappy phone camera, and it was magic, it took me back to the time when I first discovered the Beatles, the exact same grand feeling I’ve never felt with anything else.
After a while it was time for Paperback Writer , (“This is the guitar I used to record with in the 60s,” he told us, I might be paraphrasing a bit) and My Valentine for Nancy, but the real gigantic tears first came with Maybe I’m Amazed , when he said “I wrote this for Linda” and they showed many pictures of them together, and those she took of him, and I didn’t even feel like singing along, I was just absorbing the sound and enjoying every split second. Then, he played I’ve Just Seen A Face , which I think my friend loved as well, we had been singing that song whole day long as we walked in Stockholm. A few Beatles songs followed, and I especially loved it he played Blackbird , and then said something like “It’s great that I’ve written this song, because I’ve met many people across the world who told me they tried to learn it on the guitar – how many of you here have tried to play it?” and I jumped from my seat and raised my arms and screamed like a true Beatlemaniac, and it was then when Paul first looked in the section where I was, and I felt so incredibly happy. And then he said, “well, you’ve all got it wrong,” and everyone laughed.
When he sang Here Today is where I was literally cried like a baby, and he also had tears in his eyes, and oh that moment when he sings “I love you,” it’s so too damn precious. I also cried a lot during Something , all the George pictures in the background got me past my emotional barrier, which was not one difficult to cross last night, my emotions kept on swinging, but they were all based on genuine joy and happiness, even all the tears. “Thank you,” he said as we applauded, “and thank you George for writing this beautiful song.”
Another wonderful moment was he the “na na”s in Hey Jude came, and he asked the audience to sing, first the men and then the women, and then everyone else together; it all blended perfectly. He did that part where he sang melodies and asked us to repeat after him, kind of a Freddie Mercury moment which with my new Queen obsession made the night all the more amazing. It was as though the entire arena was one huge unity.
Helter Skelter was one of the last few songs (and he played 40, if I am not wrong, which is beyond impressive!) and I just jumped around and told everyone around me that it was one of my favorite songs, and everyone was just so, so happy, and so into the show. I don’t even know how to describe it.
Golden Slumbers , Carry That Weight and The End was where he finished, and I was in complete awe then. It was beyond incredible. Here is the best picture I managed to take (although you have to agree that the blurriness takes years off of him!):
He tried to speak Swedish, and although I cannot speak the language, I understood most of it. He also made sure to welcome everyone who was not from Sweden and was there, which made me feel special. At the end he was saying in Swedish, “But we have to go now,” and we were all screaming, “Nei!”
When it was over, I was overwhelmed but not in disbelief, I was intensely aware of what had happened, but unlike my last concert, I didn’t fall in depression that it was over, I was simply glad that it happened and I’ve burned every second in my memory where I hope it will stay forever.
I am thankful that I got the chance to see one of my favorite people on the planet, from my favorite band, and had the best time I could have ever had.
