One After 909 always makes me think of LA because 909 is one of our area codes, and that particular area is a running joke with a reputation for activities of ill-repute; the guys on my favorite morning show used to call it the Home of the Meth Lab. I’d probably fall out laughing if Paul performed that here.

This would probably be my prefect set list with a more even mix of beatles, wings and solo songs. Also I would love to see paul play his rickenbacker bass live again.

  1. Good Day Sunshine: great opener which would get the crowd going. Could be interchanged with Magical Mystery Tour or the current opener Eight Days A Week.
  2. Coming Up : don’t know why this isn’t in his main set as it was a number 1 in america and a big hit else where
  3. Save Us
  4. Fixing A Hole: gem from Sgt Pepper i feel pauls band could nail
  5. Listen To What The Man Said: paul should bring out his rickenbacker for this one
  6. Fine Line: minor hit from 2005s Chaos And Creation In The Backyard
  7. Maybe I’m Amazed : classic
  8. The Long And Winding Road: I really enjoy the live version of this
  9. Nineteen Hundred And Eight five: been in the set since 2010 but its a real crowd pleaser
  10. I Can Bet: from new. I envisage paul playing his les paul on this one.
  11. Bluebird: played in soundcheck, should really make it into the main set
  12. Things We Said Today: love this song, can be alternated with I’ll Follow The Sun or Two of Us
  13. Hope of Deliverance: again this was a huge hit in europe and should be part of the main set
  14. Blackbird
  15. In My Life: to replace Here Today as the John tribute, paul alone with acoustic guitar
  16. New
  17. No More Lonely Nights: why oh why this hasn’t been played before is unbelievable. However it may be a bit high in parts for pauls voice.
  18. The Fool On The Hill: full band arrangement, not played since 2003
  19. Tug Of War : starts with paul alone, then at the bridge part the band join in, this would be superb
  20. Dance Tonight: another crowd pleaser and was a moderate hit
  21. Another Day
  22. Alligator: brilliant song from the New album played recently at soundchecks
  23. Here Comes The Sun: this would make a beautiful geroge tribute
  24. Penny Lane: big beatles hit what should be played more often
  25. My Brave Face: from 1989’s Flowers In The Dirt , this would really spice up the set
  26. Band On The Run
  27. Uncle Albert /Admiral Halsey : a number one in america, this is dying to be played live.
  28. Ticket To Ride: every tour paul sings one of johns songs, from 2009-2012 it was A Day In The Life, currently its Mr Kite, however I think this would be a sutible replacement. Paul should play his Eppy Casino on this since he played it on the record.
  29. Beautiful Night: the ending to this would be great in a concert environment
  30. Let It Be
  31. Live And Let Die
  32. Hey Jude

Encour 1

33.Hi Hi Hi

34. Silly Love Songs, Paul should play his rickenbacker on these two songs

35. Goodnight Tonight: another wings song dying to be played live, paul on his les paul

Encour 2

36. Yesterday

37. Mull Of Kintyre ; should be played everywhere not just Canada and Scotland

38. Helter Skelter

39. Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End

More ontopic, I was surprised there weren’t more changes to the set considering the band were rehearsing recently in LA. Also surprised that Alligator and On My Way To Work didn’t make the set considering they were played at the soundcheck on Friday. I also thought Early Days would have been added in place of Here Today as Paul recently made a video for this.

Here Today is Pauls tribute to John and i can’t see any song replacing it, same as another song replacing Something . Both appear to be automatic mainstay selections in the set list like certain Beatles songs and My Valentine are.

That’s why I kept it in. I made sure not to change any mainstays. (except I think I took out Live And Let Die )

He changes his John song that he does though. I changed it from Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite ! to Hey Bulldog , then added Dear Prudence for a softer John song (plus is goes with Back In The USSR ).

Update on the One After 909 thing, according to the commentors on that article, he played both One After 909  and Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite !.

From Paul’s Facebook page this morning:

IMPORTANT SANTIAGO SHOW NEWS:

Due to a technical issue Paul McCartney is rescheduling the first night of a two night stint at the Movistar Arena in Chile. A plane carrying touring equipment failed to arrive in Santiago on time following a show in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Paul’s Monday (21/4/14) concert will now be moved to Wednesday 23rd April.

Paul said:

“Though I’m upset that the jumbo jet carrying all my equipment for the show has gone technical and will not arrive in Santiago in time for the show tonight, I will not cancel the concert. I would hate to disappoint our great Chilean fans so we are moving the Monday show to Wednesday this week and looking forward to having a rocking time in Santiago.”

Paul frequently plays songs exclusive to soundcheck. That’s why tix to soundcheck can cost upwards of $1500 I see Dallas is up to $2000 for front row + soundcheck.

But I am surprised about Early Days .

Section 104, row E.  I can’t post a diagram of the seating chart right now so not sure if that says anything.

Dang, I’m jealous. That’s 5th row in the lower bowl! (If it has bowls, that’s what it should be)

I’m in the upper bowl, but it is the first row, so at least there’s no one directly in front of me to worry about.

@IveJustSeenAFaceo, you have a good seat. It never fails, no matter how tall you are there is always someone taller who stands in front of you. It always happens to me and I’m 6’1″.

That was my strategy for Ringo. No matter how far back I am, I want my seat in Row A of that section. So I kept refreshing Ticketmaster until I got one.

I’m 5’1″. This is going to be interesting. If we stand up, we probably won’t be able to hear each other. Guess we need some kind of sign language worked out.a-hard-days-night-ringo-7a-hard-days-night-john-3ahdn_paul_06
