I like his granny music, I won’t let John sway my music taste!

Yeah, I like Your Mother Should Know too. What walter raleigh notices I think reflects a larger phenomenon: most of the Beatles fans here tend to like harder rock (I can tell from their choices of music outside the Beatles) and so, the harder your rock tastes, the less inclined you would be to appreciate the “granny s**t music” Paul liked to dabble in. Paul himself was, I think, the most eclectic of all four of the Fab.
Doesn’t really apply to me. I mean, I love current names such as Ed Sheeran and Newton Faulkner, which would be folky guitar music, or singer-songwriter. But, I also love the heavier types of rock, with Muse being a current favourite. I’ve always had a very eclectic taste in music. I’ll listen to Vivaldi, Mozart, or Beethoven, but I’ll also devour AC/DC, Aerosmith, and Nirvana. I’ll listen to dance/house – though not often – and I can also sit back and enjoy some Fats Domino, or Louis Armstrong. Perhaps that only confirms your theory, but I don’t think it does entirely, since I usually do prefer the heavier stuff over the ‘sit down and listen’ kind of music. Except where the Beatles are concerned, of course. I don’t really prefer one era over another.

I’ve been through a few phases with Paul’s music, so it’s been a love/hate thing with the granny s**t. I’ve said before I started out as a Johnnist and then I got to appreciate the Paulist side and so on. TBH I think it says more about John’s insecurity than Paul’s questionable taste. Paul just puts it out there and you can decide, he doesn’t have filters and that leads as often to good stuff as bad. I think it also has to be said that John’s music lost its eclecticism over his solo career (although we’ll never know for sure), and Paul never stopped trying things. It’s not “movement” in the sense that John meant, more a buckshot approach. Hey, Paul could have put out disco and punk records, plenty of artists tried to ride different musical waves.

Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

I think Pauls willingness to experiment that resulted in Sgt. Pepper , as well as other commercial hits like Say Say Say (which I quite like), resulting in an extremely multifaceted career.
Being a Johnist, its always confusing when he talk about Paul music in that way. Its as if he’s ordering his fans to not like it.

Did someone say Muse?!
I’ve been getting into them these past six months or so; they’re incredible. My third favourite band.

Poor Muse. At least Stephenie Meyer has good taste in Muse-ic. (And it seems I have terrible taste in puns.)
Joking aside, I’ve never seen Twilight either, so I associate them with their own awesomeness.

I think of this one guy I knew in middle school who kept trying to turn me on to them. He never could. I’m not a huge muse fan.

*sigh* I suppose we should. I was just excited to see I wasn’t the only BBer who likes Muse.
My username is from one of Paul’s granny crap songs, which is of course very special to me, so it should be pretty obvious that I quite like his granny music. Many of my favourite Beatles songs are Paul’s, actually (my Harrifandom applies mainly to George’s post-Beatles music and personality).
Quite a bit of Paul’s music is just crap, granny or otherwise, but I still like it.

It probably won’t surprise you when I say that I love all Paul’s ‘granny s**t’ stuff,Beatles and solo. Some of the tracks are incredibly cheesy (yes, I’m looking at you Ob la di,Ob la da) but hey, there’s nothing wrong with a bit of cheese from time to time.
