Pretty sure Paul upped four isolated tracks of ‘MMD’ a number of years ago to his website (one the vocals, another various selected instruments of the backing track – can’t remember the others); not sure if you could officially download them but they were soon flowing around the net. Each are an incredible listen to what makes up the song and the entire backing track is out there which is stunning. Who thinks of putting such a thing together? No wonder John was a fan of the track.
Let Me Roll It ’ and ‘Maybe I’m Amazed’ were also upped as was a fourth which I cannot remember the title of.

Note: in 2015 I noted three being ‘MMD’, MIA’ and ‘Band On The Run ’ and an unremembered fourth. Add in ‘LMRI’ and you have four. No idea if that’s all correct tho.

And in that song there’s the catch up/ketchup soup/don’t get left behind bit.

One of the first few 45s I owned that was given to me brand-new (as opposed to being handed down by relatives) was “Uncle Albert /Admiral Halsey “; and for nearly 40 years I believed that the Admiral had to have a bath, or he couldn’t get to sleep.

meaigs, I found Monkberry with vocals isolated a long time ago.

That video cleared up our lyric discrepancies in the MMD thread.  I believe we decided it was Ketchup/Catch up soup and puree the first time, and Catch up cats and kittens the second time.

Also, it sounds an awful lot like he says piano.  I wonder if the Lyrics book says piano or pillow.

I can’t understand half of what he sings in this song. Maybe that’s the point. He’s so drunk he is slurring the words. But the one that gets me the most is “pillow up my nose” which I thought was “piano up my nose” until I looked at the lyrics on Paul’s website.

Wait , what? Of course it’s a piano up his nose, never heard anything dofferent. And obviously, I am an expert on this topic. paul-mccartney-thumb_gif

Hi WSC,  not all of the songs are in the Lyrics book and that’s one of them (not in it), strange as he said  he liked this song a lot. It’s in his “Poems and Lyrics 1965-1999” book though. As MMD says Ii is Piano up his nose and it’s Ketchup soup and puree. I really like Linda’s singing in  Ram , she sounds a bit like a 1950s/60s girl group, especially in this song.

Could I ask an admin to change the name of this thread to “Ambiguous Paul Lyrics” instead of “Misheard Paul Songs”?

Not a song lyric, but a poem.

Rocking On! (from Blackbird Singing) has the line:

One two many
Scotch and Cokes

I like “one two many” instead of “one too many”
