As a Paul fan, I feel I have the right to say there are quite a few of his songs that fall flat for me; and often among those many songs that over the years have surfaced which he never put on any albums one gives them a listen and says to oneself, "Oh dear, I can see why he never put this on an album..."
However, sometimes I'm quite pleasantly surprised -- like when I heard "Peacocks". He puts Linda's charming voice to good use there, the rhythm guitar has a nice satisfying feel, and the almost inane earworm of a leitmotif is to me deliciously infectious. Sure, the song doesn't really go anywhere, but I enjoyed riding around the block 100 times with Paul and Linda...

Um, sounds like Yoko shrieking in parts to me. Take that out, and I'm fine with the rest of it.

It sounds like it could be a track of McCartney II . Not one of my favorites, but parts of it are pretty chill.

Anything prior to 1977 would be gems left off of his albums, but since Back To The Egg and on, I can agree with you about the Oh dear comment.
But this song is 7 minutes of my life I will never get back!!!
