I was playing this song earlier for the first time in absolutely ages and I almost started bawling at least three times, I had to squash the feels down just a bit to get through the song. Maybe it was how I was feeling at the time, or everything that's going on in the world at the moment; the vid always makes me wanna cry, but today, playing the song itself just hit close to home.

I was listening to Flaming Pie the other day whilst doing schoolwork and when "Little Willow" came on I had to stop what I was doing and just close my eyes and listen to its sweetness

For anyone who didn't know, this was written as a tribute to Maureen Cox (Ringo's first wife, of course), who had succumbed to cancer during the album's recording sessions... and just as Linda would also do within a year of the album's release.
