Am I going mad. Was listening to Ringo's 'Only You' and its opening immediately reminded me of the beginning of 'Every Night '. Anyone else hear a similarity?

What a find. What years did these come out? Who is playing on both songs? Who copied who?

'Every Night ' is from 'McCartney' in 1970. 'Only You' is a cover of The Platters 1955 hit (originally released in 1954) and was released in 1974 on Ringo's 'Goodnight Vienna'. John suggested the song, plays acoustic guitar (which I presume includes the intro), and laid down a guide vocal, which is on the 1998 'Lennon Anthology'.
