It took me awhile to like this one, but No Other Baby is brilliant! It is a perfect song to describe what I am sure he was feeling at the time since it was so close to Linda's death, and he sings it so well.

When Movie Magg played on my mp3 player this morning, for some reason I thought of Maggie May from the Let It Be album.

I just published a feature on this album, trying to fill some gaps in the McCartney canon.

I prefer my music on 12 inch vinyl unless if it is a single or EP. All of these single collection box sets and things like this are just a waste of vinyl.
Except this isn't a single collection box, it's the actual 16 track album put onto 8 45's.

'Run Devil Run ' always sounded naff to me. 'No Other Baby' rightly being the track pulled from the album and turned into a single as there is very little else to get caught up in.
I wonder if 'No Other Baby' was more than a cover of an oldie and in some way Paul's positioning on 'Linda's death and where that left him. The video is Paul on his own drifting at sea going thru a storm which passes yet at the end he is still drifting. The lyric self-explanatory. He was totally lost after Linda's death.
