I’d call the film a guilty pleasure. Or, as the Dutch would call it, ‘fout’ (which means ‘wrong’, but is just our term for guilty pleasure – something that’s so bad, it’s good).The hotrod scene always cracks me up. Yes, I’ve watched the film all the way through two or three times. There are some cringe-inducing scenes, and there are some gems in there as well. I like it in a train-wreck sort of way. I think it’s endearing.
Also, what kind of a Paulvert would I be if I couldn’t sit through it? I mean, Paul’s in every scene. If you hate the story, just mute the bloody thing, and feast yer eyes on the protagonist…
Would still have to see Paul fail to act even semi-competently.

Offline I’ve seen the movie and listened to the album, but I’ve always wanted to play the videogame. I haven’t really looked that hard for it, but I’ve always wanted the chance to play it.

Yeah, I don’t know why everyone hates the soundtrack so much. I think those versions are pretty good. I mean they’re not as good as the originals, but I wouldn’t call them bad. I kinda like the alternate 3rd verse of Ballroom Dancing, also I looove No More Lonely Nights.

Offline I hope the archive of this album comes with a PC version or something like that of the video game. If this is added to the archive collection, it needs to have the soundtrack, the movie, the game, and maybe a bonus track disc(? I don’t know what bonus tracks would come with this album…maybe some demos or outtakes).

Offline Okay I finally decided to search around and I found a C64 emulator and a copy of this game. After excitedly jumping in my seat whilst getting the game set up, the white car in front of Abbey Road Studios appeared with the 8 bit “Band On The Run ” playing in the back on repeat. It is basically like the video that mmm posted. Essentially you aimlessly drive around a way too accurate map of London, unless you know the city of London or use the game manual. If you want to actually accomplish things in the game you have to use the manual and read the character descriptions to figure out where you think they will go. The fact that it you pretty much NEED the manual to complete the game makes me rate it kinda low. Then again it was made in a time where the video game genre was still new and experimental, so I can give it sort of a pass for that.
