@Ahhh Girl “There is a little funny talking part with all 4 Beatles at the beginning of the All Together Now video.”

That beginning of the All Together Now video is the ending of the Yellow Submarine movie – at least as I remember it.

As previously stated, I have no problem with “Driving Rain ” (the song), and though it’s an overall weak album, everything is relative. It’s weak in relation to other McCartney albums.

While listening to this album this morning, I had these thoughts.

Call me slow on the uptake, but now I see that the song Driving Rain isn’t about getting in a vehicle. Think more like Drive My Car .

“Let’s go there and back again”

OK. Sure, Paul. a-hard-days-night-ringo-6

From Lonely Road: “Don’t want to let you take me down / Don’t want to get hurt second time around” made me think of “You hurt me then / You’re back again / No, no, no, Not A Second Time

I’m late to the party, but I hate Driving Rain . There isn’t a single good song on it, IMO. I’ve got a massive Beatles/Macca playlist on Deezer, which includes nearly everything including Thrillington and Fireman, but I have not added DR. I can’t stand it. So, to answer those who wondered if hating the album makes them bad people: if it does, then I must be a bad person too.

The music in song Heather is beautiful. Paul just needs to flick the word heather off of the song and rerelease it.

Driving Rain is not my favorite album. THere’s maybe three good songs on the album, and all the rest are kind of boring and easily forgettable.

On that, I agree. It’s a pity that songs is so specifically for Lady Mucca. It’s a lovely melody.

I think A…G (or more realistically, Nancy) could be whispered just fine in place of Heather.

While it is my least favorite Paul solo album I do t think it’s horrible.  I love the title track, as well as heather.

Nah, he should just re-do it for all Paulettes. Then we’d have our very own theme song! paul-mccartney-thumb_gif

That’s true. We Paulettes have to stick together. Share-and-share alike.

I just listened to this album again.  I don’t hate it, even though I figured out it is my least favorite Paul album by going through all the Paul albums I’d rather listen to than this one.  It turns out I’d rather listen to every other Paul album over this one, but I still don’t hate it.

Well put. Doesn’t really have anything that stands out, good or bad, but the majority of the album is pretty boring.

The more I listen to this album, the more I really do like it. It’s not Paul’s best album by far, but it still is a great one. It has it’s own charm. There are some pretty good songs on here too, like “Lonely Road,” “FALTAF,” “Driving Rain ,” “Magic,” “Tiny Bubble,” “Heather,” and “Freedom”.

Yeah, this is definitely his weakest album of the last 25 years (the mostly-covers-only Kisses On The Bottom notwithstanding). The site ultimateclassicrock.com even ranked it as his weakest album ever. Of course, I certainly can’t agree with that as long as Pipes Of Peace and Press To Play exist. “Lonely Road,” “Heather,” and “Your Loving Flame” are probably the only genuine classics here. I’d also consider “Your Way” sort of a superior update of “Bip Bop.” Still, it’s more interesting than your average band’s output at the time.
