Offline Ok, I have to get this off my chest. I’ve perused a lot of these “Paul is Dead” sites and YouTubes (so many hours of my life I can’t get back!), and while it intrigues me in a weird way, I remain a skeptic and find their “arguments” full of holes.
But (here’s the big “but”), I have this nagging feeling that something went on with the Beatles during that key period of their radical change, from 1967 to 1969, from Sergeant Peppers through to the White Album , something that they and their friends and handlers have never told us. I don’t know what that something is, but whatever it is, it’s significant, and for some reason they don’t want to tell us.
There it is.

Offline I too think there could be a deep Beatles conspiracy, but at this point I feel like whatever its about is no longer relevant.
For now we just have to continue believing that the sexual encounters with minors is the worst part of their history.

Offline I know he’s not dead, just wanted to get your thoughts on it. Were the Beatles playing along with the whole thing and planting clues in the lyrics and album covers,or was it all just a massive coincidence?
I believe they were consciously planting clues, and having a bit of fun with the whole thing. I’ve read a lot about it, and it is a really interesting thing to study. Some of the clues and backward lyrics etc are really spooky.
I’d love to get your thoughts on it. Cheers

We already have a thread on the Paul is dead thing.
As for the question, I doubt it. The rumor didn’t start until September 1969. The Beatles finished Abbey Road the month before. Their career was nearly over by the time the rumor started. They wouldn’t have had any source to work with to mess with people.

Well, in 1969 I believe, the famous attorney F. Lee Bailey conducted a mock trial investigating the claim (with many relevant guests, including Paul’s brother and Alan Klein, etc.); supposedly it was broadcast on a local TV station in New York at the time. I believe his conclusion at the end of it all was that there’s not enough evidence to support the claim that Paul had died, but that there was enough circumstantial evidence to indicate that the Beatles were in on the PID rumors.
Here’s an audio of that trial (not sure if it is the entire trial, as I haven’t listened to the whole thing):

Offline All the other “clues” are not sufficient to sway me, but the comparison of ear lobes is pretty damned odd. The lobes of the supposedly “real Paul” seem to connect seamlessly to his neck and seem more like “cup ears” (or “jug ears”) whereas the lobes of the supposed “Faul” do seem to be disconnected from the neck. All the other photographic/physiognomic “evidence” I’ve found so unconvincing as to be at times laughable; but not this.

I’ve run into this Tina Foster character (listened to portions of some interviews); but what does “Her Majesty ” refer to?

Offline @Pineapple Records: Ah yes, I remember reading about that. Thanks for posting. I think that was where Mike McCartney was asked when was the last time he’d seen Paul, and Mike replied “at his funeral I think”, clearly seeing the whole thing as a joke, and taking the piss a little
