I took a little video of every song – this morning I counted…38 songs. Jimmy Fallon was there with Lorne Michaels celebrating his birthday, so he played “Birthday ” for Jimmy. Overall, a totally amazing experience – he really works his ass off to put on a big, giant, satisfying show that spans his whole career. Highlights for me were “A Day In The Life ,” “I’ve Got A Feeling ,” and of course “Live And Let Die .”
Now that I’ve seen Paul, I have to see when Ringo is coming to town…

Offline I don’t know about other venues but at the show I saw there was also a DJ on from about 7:45 or so playing Beatles mashups and covers. It was pretty cool.

Offline I was at the Syracuse show, which was absolutely wonderful. He started at 8:01 so I wouldn’t assume that he starts late every night. I don’t know how he did a 3 hour show like that–it was hot as hades in the dome and must have been much worse on stage. No air conditioning–at least one person fainted from the heat while standing in line waiting to get in the venue.
It was my first McCartney show so I have nothing to compare it to. His voice was quite creaky on a number of songs but nobody cared. I totally missed the first half of Hey Jude , as the pyrotechnics from Live And Let Die set the scaffolding on fire and I (along with much of the audience) was focused on whether the vague shapes climbing the scaffolding were going to be able to put it out.
It was a fantastic show–so glad that I splurged for the tickets.
