I'll tune in to watch Macca, but I couldn't care less about any of the other performers. Or the Queen or any of the rest of the royal family. Oh, for a republic one day.

This is just one aspect of the celebrations, there are many more things arranged already and other things all over the country that still have to be finalised.
I'm like Joe above and have no real interest in the Concert apart from Paul playing.

Yes, fair enough, but the Party at the Palace had several big name rock bands performing. The performers announced so far for this seem to be boring. I would say “suiting the Queen's tastes” but I can't see her liking Jessie J's style of music and surely Ed Sheeran is below her.

Yeah, I'd be surprised if HRH likes Madness, myself. Here's hoping Paul plays “Her Majesty “! (yeah, right)
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

I think its so obvious a choice that Paul has to Vonbontee. Very corny and sickly to do so however. Maybe he should just do the whole Abbey Road lp to make it seem more natural.

Wow, I never knew he played Her Majesty last time, thanks for posting!
But apart from Macca, it isn’t exactly a brilliant line up.
I think it's great you're going through a phase,
and I'm awfully glad it'll all be over in a couple

There arent many recent UK acts out there that would add any major interest to the line-up. JLS, One Direction, Adele, Jessie J, Pixie Lott, Take That… depressing if any of those are scheduled to appear. Tho Adele’s stock will be massive after her 6 Grammy win. Others that could be added are Noel Gallacher and a few bands like Coldplay, Snow Patrol, The Killers, but still dont make you want to run out and dance for joy and how many would be willing to attend.
And who is Lang Lang?
Having said all that i have applied for tickets. Mainly for Paul being there but was reading the news report and thought why not, millions will apply so probably wont be successful anyway. Turn up for Paul and then leave and to be there would be cool for about 10 minutes before getting fed up with little girls screaming for One Direction.

I’ve also applied for tickets just to see Paul as I’ve not seen him in concert before. Hope I win tickets!
Did you?
Think he was fairly disappointing, as far as I could tell (I missed part of the concert) they allowed him to perform more songs than any other artist… and he chose Magical Mystery Tour and Ob-la-di Ob-la-da over Hey Jude and Give Ireland Back To The Irish.

Not sure if it would be a good idea of singing “Give Ireland Back To The Irish” on the Queen concert :).

Would have been one heck of a statement if Paul had played Give Ireland Back To The Ireland, imagine the reaction! The screams turn to silence as people wonder what the heck he’s playing, then slowly make out the words, would there be booing – can people boo Paul?
I havent seen Pauls section (any section of the concert actually) but was pretty disappointed to see 4 standard Beatles song and Live And Let Die . Tho its what all the non-macca fanatics would have wanted to see and what most people know, i can see the press moaning that he dared to play anything post 80’s none Beatles none Wings (“guhh he played Coming Up , he sucks”). I think thats what we have to except – apart from the odd rarity and off the cuff rendition Paul is going to play from the same bank list of around 40 songs (feel free to add the normal speel about his catalogue of songs).
Maybe Paul will play at the Olympics and do a small number of other songs (pre 80’s Beatles & Wings tracks obviously).

It was a fabulous production.
The visuals were astounding – especially the projections onto Buckingham Palace.
Never having cared for “Magical Mystery Tour ” (except the musical outro) I was slightly disappointed by the choice of that song. (I find it too long and repetitive).
To get really, really picky, it was also disappointing to see Paul look down at the teleprompter when introducing the Queen.
But hey, the guy was fabulous, and I loved the Union Jack painted on the Hofner bass!
It was nice to see the concert end with the big sing along to “Ob La Di …” – that’s probably a first for McCartney.
A splendid time was clearly had by all.
(could Ob La Di be pronounced Ob La Die as in “Lady Di”? that would have been a subtle dig – not at all in keeping with Macca’s character.
But he did do “Live and Let DI“!!! Ooooh I see a conspiracy theory brewing…
