Paul has done some fantastic melodic bass playing in just about every Beatle song. What is your favorite song of his during his Beatle days regarding his bass playing.
My favorite is and has always been the fuzz bass in 'Think For Yourself '

Hey Bulldog , of course, Come Together , Rain , Paperback Writer , of course are all flashy, but I also like Octopus's Garden, With A Little Help From My Friends , and Hello Goodbye . I just got the scores for Lady Madonna , and it's simple, but very catchy.

When I read the headline I thought "Oh that's an easy one.. Mrs. Vanderbilt"
But then it's the one "in the Beatles". Mhh. Hard to say. Something is one. I love it.

Good to have you back Mith!
Dear Prudence might be my favorite, that bass line always gets me. The Word is pretty nasty, but his bass throughout Abbey Road is just so smooth, I definitely agree about Something .

Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite ! has a great bassline. I also like I Want You (She's So Heavy) and A Day In The Life .

Previous threads on this topic have definitely made me listen more closely to his basslines than I have in the past.
I agree he is incredible and my favorite basslines of his remain Paperback Writer and Rain .
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

So many great ones! I like "Taxman " and "The Word " for funk, love the drive of "Magical Mystery Tour " and "Baby You're A Rich Man", inventive countermelodies in "Lucy" and "Hey Bulldog ", the entire first side of Abbey Road ...no way I can choose just one for realz, obviously. But just for today, I'll PRETEND that my favourite is "Nowhere Man " - I don't think I've ever seen that one singled out for praise.

One day, a tape-op got a tape on backwards, he went to play it, and it was all "Neeeradno-undowarrroom" and it was "Wow! Sounds Indian!"

Yes! But maybe that's just because I like the song as a whole.
If I seem to act unkind, it's only me, it's not my mind that is confusing things.
