I have the belief that any cover Dylan did would sound like a threat, his voice is so deep and raspy that it comes across as sinister and needs to be reported to Scotland Yard.

No kidding - that cover he did on the last page was frightening. It could be played at haunted houses.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

What a waste of money. Karaoke at it's finest and your gonna get sucked into buying it!It's been done folks, a million times over!
See your point…….But I like tributes………I like some of these artists very much.
I mean…. thinking about it a little more deeply…..Are you saying, you've never bought a Blues or Jazz….or Classical album because they're interpretations of someone's work, rather than something 'new'?
Are you saying when you've heard BB King do a song, you're not interested in Eric or Jimmy's take on it? If so then we can also right-off, as Karaoke, Sinatra, Nat Cole, Tony Bennet, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong……..etc etc.
Having said all that, if the contributions adhere exactly to Paul's originals without any effort to interpret or 'Joe Cocker them up' it won't be of any value and you'll be right……Let's see.
Just thinking about Joe Cocker's, 'With A Little Help From My Friends '. Ignoring the better or worse argument …….I think it's great. Jimmy Page didn't cover many Beatles songs..Chris Stainton on keyboards….. Nice to have in this version in the world don't cha think?
Your examples Reminds me of "Blinded By The Light" cover of Bruce Bedsprings song. His version is not very moving, but the cover version is just awesome.
Sorry, If I sound like a Debbie Downer, but absolutely nothing on this album comes remotely close to your fine examples. I love a great cover, but this stuff ain't it.

I have to admit most of these samples sound horrible. However, I usually buy everything with The Cure or Robert Smith's name on it, so I'm torn about whether to cancel my order. Also some of the songs have to be better than what we've heard. Steve Miller is usually decent. Heart is probably good. Peter, Bjorn and John are okay.
But oh my God , Bob Dylan sounds like he's about to die. His voice is horrible.

That Booker T. one sounds like a bad moment at the seaside way back when. I probably should compliment it on being different but any gains from being so are lost thru its naftness.
I liked Dyan's voice on 'Tempest', it suited most of the album tracks, but certainly on 'Things We Said Today ' it's really not there. Imagine having that on your ipod and it coming on in surprise! You'd be putting on new clothes after having to have a shower.
