Thought this should get its own thread as its scheduled to be released on February 7th 2012 and will no doubt spark comments/discussion/debate/questions.

The tracklisting is up on wiki and is listed as

1. I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter (Alhert/Young) 2:36
2. Home (When Shadows Fall) (Van Steeden/Clarkson/Clarkson) 4:04
3. It's Only a Paper Moon (Arlen/Harburg/Rose) 2:35
4. More I Cannot Wish You (Loesser) 3:03
5. The Glory of Love (Hill) 3:45
6. We Three (My Echo, My Shadow and Me) (Dorsey/Robertson/Mysels) 3:22
7. Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive (Arlen/Mercer) 2:31
8. My Valentine (McCartney) 3:14
9. Always (Berlin) 3:49
10. My Very Good Friend the Milkman (Burke/Spina) 3:04
11. Bye Bye Blackbird (Henderson/Dixon) 4:26
12. Get Yourself Another Fool (Forrest/Heywood) 4:42
13. The Inch Worm (Loesser) 3:42
14. Only Our Hearts (McCartney?) 4:21

No idea how accurate this is and even then it may change before its release.

EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

(Okay, fangirling over now.)

So, I guess it's for Nancy and is mostly covers, yes?

Awww…

Although I am a bit disappointed there won't be much of Paul's own work, a cover is still a New McCartney Song and the news is very exciting. Thanks, meanmistermustard.

"Now and then, though, someone does begin to grow differently. Instead of down, his feet grow up toward the sky. But we do our best to discourage awkward things like that."

"What happens to them?" insisted Milo.

"Oddly enough, they often grow ten times the size of everyone else," said Alec thoughtfully, "and I’ve heard that they walk among the stars."

Wow! Already on youtube?? I heard it on his site. I'm with you, mith…I love the guitar work! If I read the article right, I think Paul doesn't play any of the instruments. I'm fairly certain Clapton is the guitarist on this track. Could be wrong, though! I can't wait to hear the rest of the songs. This one was fabulous…

Yep – it's Clapton.

Thanks for sharing the vid, mith. At first listen, I like it. After a few listens, I'll probably love it.

Am surprised the title track (My Valentine ) is out there already, 7 weeks before the album is released. Meantime to actually hear the song you either have to go to youtube or illegally download it as its only being streamed for 24 hours on his website if you are a premium member.

Suppose thats the way music is going, put it out ages before its actually officially released so people can only get it illegally, hoping it catches fire with the public so it sells when it is eventually released.

Wheres the logic?

The track itself i think is a grower. On intial listening i was 'eghhh, is that Paul?' but by the end it was actually a good song. A promising beginning for the album.

And thanks for posting the song Mith.

Well the song was love at first hearing. I love it. It’s growing a lot on me.

My Dad thinks the orchestra and the guitar are fantastic and said “We have to get that album”. I made my Dad said he wants a Beatle solo album!!!!!! a-hard-days-night-john-1

I wonder what John had thought of the song… I think he would have loved it… a-hard-days-night-john-2

Oh and BTW Isn't that pic of Nancy and Paul just lovely?? I almost forget how much I hate her for marrying him. Oh well… there's always hope for…..

The more I listen to it, the more I like it! Very melancholic…you can hear the maturity in Paul's voice, which is definitely not a bad thing. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album. I listened to all the songs on the leaked track list, and I especially liked Accentuate the Positive. I don't care if it's a cover album…the songs are new to me, and maybe I'll be opened up to a whole new genre.

Why isn't he releasing this on the 14th instead of the 7th, I wonder?

Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

I suppose if its out on the 7th folks can buy the album as a gift for their parter in advance. Imagine the arguements if it was released on the 14th and the gift wasnt there in the morning with the other pressies.a-hard-days-night-ringo-14paul-mccartney There would be many a heartache.

There are also reports that the album is untitled at the moment and will not be called My Valentine .

As a fan of the ol’ Sinatra/Martin/Davis/Crosby style of music, I hoped Paul did the songs justice. Then I listened to My Valentine . If he puts that “je ne said quoi” on everything, he’s got a classic. My Valentine is beautiful, with rare (in his latter years) lyrics that are sanguine. It’s really good.

As if it matters how a man falls down.'

'When the fall's all that's left, it matters a great deal.

a-hard-days-night-paul-6He looks like Frankenstein! Ach, poor Paul.

Photos taken at the exact wrong time are quite funny.a-hard-days-night-paul-11

Eww! I have to admit, though, I zigged when I saw it. Poor Paul!

If I seem to act unkind, it's only me, it's not my mind that is confusing things.

a-hard-days-night-paul-8 i think the pic's just fine. And in my opinion, Paul doesn't sound that different in my valentine… I have always thought his voice has been too old with his age, but now his age has caught up with him

Who would have thought 40 years ago that in the 21st century there would be many more pictures of Paul looking old and dowdy … than Ringo?

Fortunately, Paul has remained outstanding in all other regards.

a-hard-days-night-ringo-13 Please, no more. My mother has done enough with saying how ugly Ringo is. Because there are so many pictures taken of Paul, of course some of them will be slightly less flattering. But when I last (read:the only time) saw him, he still looked stunning. But I think he's the type of guy, anyway, who will look good only in certain clothes and haircut
