I have recently purchased a used copy of Choba B CCCP (otherwise known as the russian album). I belive its original since the text is all in Russian
The sleeve says there are 11 tracks but after listening to the LP there were a further two tracks, one on each side. These are listed on the vinyl sticker.
So I was wondering if all copies have more tracks than are listed and if I’ve got the wrong vinyl for the sleeve.

During the recording sessions 22 songs were recorded, but originally only 11 were put on the album. A second Soviet pressing, released in December 1988, increased the song total to 13 by adding “I’m Gonna Be a Wheel Someday” and “Summertime”.
Presumably the record company or the retailer used the original sleeve and just stuck in the second vinyl pressing.
The CD release added Midnight Special for a 14 track edition.

Offline Seeing this has reappeared from the dusty archives should probably put the conversation back on topic.
Over a decade before Paul covered ‘No Other Baby’ on ‘Run Devil Run ‘ he did so for ‘Choba B CCCP ‘ with a significantly different arrangement, 70 seconds of which has shown up on bootleg so far. Not as good as what did get released but still interesting and would be great to get a complete performance.
‘Choba B CCCP ‘ isnt one of Paul’s best albums but there are some good tracks on it; ‘Cracking Up’ (nice to have a full performance to go alongside the 50 second one on ‘Trippin’ The Live Fantastic’), ‘I’m Gonna Be A Wheel Someday’, ‘Don’t Get Around Much Anymore’ and ‘Summertime’. John blows Paul away with his renditions of ‘Ain’t That A Shame’, ‘Just Because ‘ and ‘Bring It Back Home To Me’ however.
Incidentally there were rumours of Paul doing a third rock and roll/oldies cover album a while back, anyone heard anything about that recently?

Offline I have this in both vinyl ( Russian text) and CD . As I write, it’s nearly 30 years old, and has gone mostly unnoticed in the UK but the fact is this is fantastic rock n roll; as good as most things in that genre,helped in no small measure by the musicians that backed him. It should be heard more often. In 1999 he released ‘Run Devil Run ‘ also a R n R covers album but somehow, made no mention of Choba in interviews.
Yes, there are extra tracks on the CD version. The last one,’ Midnight Special’ features Paul playing acoustic guitar- and very well too. ..good vocals throughout…
