None of the beatles technically rerecorded for it, so no.

LOVE is just a mix/compilation thing of lots of Beatles songs for a show in Las Vegas, I think. It was NOT mixed by the Beatles, they really didn't have a say in it, so No, it doesn't count as an ACTUAL Beatles album.

I'm in love, but I'm lazy.

I dunno. It goes in the sacred Beatles Box of CDs in our house.

Maybe it's a george-martin+ george-martin's son Giles project.

Well, both Ringo and Paul were involved, as well as George's and John's representatives/”mouths remaining on earth” Olivia and Yoko. Plus, George Martin had a large role in the remixing, I believe.

So, maybe not a Beatle's album, but a Beatles related album- and a good one at that.

Tongue, lose thy light. Moon, take thy flight… see ya, George!

I think any album- Love, Anthologies, Live At The BBC , etc. -count as Beatles albums. Not the core 13, but they're still Beatles albums.

Exactly, this is just a semantic issue. It's not one of the canonical studio albums, but it's got their name on it, and it's got actual Beatles recordings on it, so it's a Beatles album. Simple as that.  Whether or not any surviving Beatle (or Beatle-widow) had ANY input as to the contents or assembly or packaging is irrelevant.

Canonical? Nice word use. Your erudition is most impressive!

Heh, I never employ a word until I've seen it used frequently enough by others to become confident that I can use it properly!

I count it as a Beatles album, sure.  But as Von Bontee stated so eliquently and I agree with, “It's not one of the canonical studio albums”.

Love counts just as much as A Collection Of Beatles Oldies.

Heh, I'm usually the one who uses a word as soon as I become aware of its existence, definition, and spelling!

You wouldn't believe how many times I've seen “incompetent” misspelled. a-hard-days-night-ringo-14

Heh. That's why I don't put “detailed oriented” on anything describing me – it guarantees at least two typos.

For my money, I count PPM to Let It Be , as well as Live At The BBC , Anthologies 1, 2, 3, LIB Naked and Love all to be part of The Beatles' output. I don't really bother with compilations, nor do I count the Yellow Submarine Soundtrack. As a rule of thumb, if it's an official release and it offers something that wasn't heard before, it goes in.

Which YS album you don't count Joe? The one in the Stereo Box Set or the Songtrack?

Ahhh, okay. I didn't know Paulie, Ringo, Olivia and Yoko were involved. I guess that makes it legitimate-r…

Hmm… interesting thought. (This is me trying to sound all intelligent) It's not really something that wasn't heard before, but yeah, I guess I get where you all are coming from.

It's kind of like “Real Love ” and all that… it's not Beatles-Beatles, but it's (still) Beatles, you know? Gahh, I confuse myself.blue-meanie

I'm in love, but I'm lazy.

Actually I count the Red and Blue Albums because to me it was the only way to have the Beatles on CD in early 90s (or at least in my town)

I was not a huge fan of Love but it's growing on me. My only complain is that I start dancing with Get Back and Glass Onion and then paf.. we go to Eleanor Rigby . I'm like “Argh I want more music to dance!”
