huge Beatles fan here, and John was my favorite of all.
Just wondering what the wisdom of the forum is concerning some of the very nasty but persistent rumors that seem to regularly crop up about John Lennon . I have a very low opinion of Albert Goldman, who made money off of a dead man with his salicious, often unsubstantiated, claims about John Lennon (anti-Semite, schizophrenia, sexuality, coke-head, etc.).

I moved your post to the John Lennon sub-forum, as it suits being here more than a general sub-forum!
Personally, I don’t tend to take much notice of rumours – I’m a facts guy, and if there’s no evidence to back it up I usually won’t agree with it. The vast majority of these rumours are made by people who have nothing better to do or want to have their 15 minutes of fame, with no regard for the person/people affected.

Offline Goldman also wrote a book about Elvis that was full of lies and intended as a character assassination. He hated rock and roll. He had an agenda.
