John Lennon Imagine Series Ltd Edition Pianos on tour
A Limited edition series of John Lennon ’s white “Imagine ” piano will go on a one month tour in the northeastern U.S in July and August, reports Steinway Hall Fans will even be able to play the pianos, which are made in four different design styles. It will be a rare opportunity.This limited edition series was introduced last fall in commemoration of Lennon’s 70th birthday. It was modeled after the white piano that John gave to his wife Yoko Ono on her birthday in 1971. This is the piano John is shown playing Imagine on in the famous video at Tittenhurst Park in Ascot, England.
Tour dates include New York, New Jersey and Connecticut
July 26-30, 2011 – Steinway Piano Gallery of Paramus, NJ
August 2-6, 2011 – Steinway Used Piano Gallery, Melville, NY
August 9-13, 2011 – Steinway Hall, New York City
August 16-20, 2011 – Steinway Piano Gallery of Westport, CT
Yes you can touch – Unlike most exhibits of actual artifacts, where ropes and signs prevent fans from touching them, during the tour, visitors will be allowed to actually sit down and play the pianos.
