Anybody else predicting that Google's homepage will incorporate a pair of Lennon glasses for their “oo” tomorrow?

Hmm, I'm not sure. They already did a Lennon doodle. But then again, it is a big-ish anniversary….

If I seem to act unkind, it's only me, it's not my mind that is confusing things.

I didn’t visit Google yesterday. Did anyone see? There’s nothing on the Google Doodles site.

It's probably better to commemorate his birth than his death. More positive, anyways.

This post and the next one were a thread titled “What type of glasses did John wear in “Rain ” and “Paperback Writer ” promotional videos?” They fit well in this thread. ~Ahhh Girl

This post was all alone in a thread, so I brought it over here to have company. The title of the thread was “How I Won The War/Walls And Bridges Glasses”. ~Ahhh Girl

So as I’ve posted before, I adore John’s glasses. All kinds, even. But there’s a very specific type I’d like to identify and track down – my collection must be completed!

Here’s a few reference images.

As you can see, they’re quite unique. They’re not perfectly circular and they’re quite thick, but very, very stylish.

Does anybody know the type? And is it on eBay or other such sites for (preferably) cheap?

Another dead thread, but here I go.

I wear granny glasses, and everybody (especially those that know that I play the guitar and compose songs) believe I do it because of John Lennon . The truth is that I am extremely myopic, and those are the best glasses for you, aesthetically speaking, when you are. So they go “Nice Lennon glasses!” and I usually reply “Well, Rudyard Kipling, Heinrich Himmler and Hideki Tojo wore them as well!”

@MrMoonlight, try Joe’s link in post one of this thread to see if you can find the right style.

I went to get new glasses three days ago. I saw one that looked like John’s and tried it on. I didn’t look that bad in it but my dad didn’t agree to buy it for me. I was very upset and finally didn’t end up buying any…

Why didn’t he, @LittleBeatlemaniac?

ANSWER

@MrMoonlight, I just remembered that two years ago I bought a pair of granny glasses from eBay. They were, in fact, cheap, and I still wear them. Check eBay frequently and sooner or later you’ll find what you want, either new or second hand.

Today is the anniversary of John’s first public appearance in his glasses, on the show Not Only… But Also, according to the Fab Four FAQ 2.0.

This is sort of about his glasses, so I guess I can post it on this tread. I got new glasses which look exactly like John’s in this photo.

suddenly just wodering about John Lennon Eyewear. so I Google Google few article pops up..

very first one was the news of early 90’s that JL Promotional give authorization to eagle eyewear to making John Lennon Collection

and also find Ocean Optical got permission to make John Lennon collection from Eagle Eyewear.

and there are manufacturere of John Lennon Eyewear at Japan and South Korea.

US / JP /SK/EU produce different collections each country.

do they make them based on John’s Eyeglasses or just Borrow his name ?

product of South Korea is quite expensive but they make stuff really aiming at JLfans.

they carved of Lennon’s handpaint at side of the frame.

end of frame (tip) looks like guitar or maked with Lennon’s paint

make hinge Sergent mark (they said its from Sgt Pepper … obviously yeah.)

but these are too expensive they got price range around 300 dollars 🙁

and also realize can’t find same model outside of Korea.

I wanted to know more about this korean company so I google again.

they said They are “official import company of John Lennon Eyewear”

then I wonder “from where??”

I find out the answer from some company analyzing website , they have factory (with other name) at china

and they imported it from thier own Factory (but not the same name)

what do John Lennon Eyewear do?

they design? or just authorized to using his name ?

Those are cool looking glasses, @pepper67!

You’re right. I don’t see that pair on any UK or US sites.

I would say that John Lennon ‘s estate authorized the making of all the frames. Here is the official logo.

I hope that answers your question.
