Looks good as the released album I find to be far too overproduced and just so will be great to hear the outtakes and everything (hopefully) nicer. I hate how both ‘One Day (At A Time)’ and ‘I Know (I Know) ‘ turned out officially. Great songs unlistenable and unbearable in their finished state.
‘I’m The Greatest’ (included on the ‘Record Store’ EP) is missing from here but there are reports of Easter Eggs on the DVD’s/Blu-rays so could be on there with who knows what else (and no doubt it will eventually circulate online regardless for anyone who wants to hear it).
Oh, and if anyone has a spare £1,350 you can purchase the super deluxe box set (and I thought a £200 White Album pen in 1998 was taking the piss). Sadly you can only buy one tho. I swear these sets are getting more stupid and expensive with each release.
It includes:
YOKO ONO DANGER BOX, 1966
Limited Edition Artwork Reproduction. A 13-inch cube perspex reproduction of Yoko Ono’s 1966 artwork with engraved plates and Certificate of Authenticity, housing the nine boxes that comprise the set.
JOHN LENNON YOU ARE HERE, 1968
Limited Edition Canvas Artwork Reproduction. A 12-inch circular canvas reproduction of John Lennon ’s 1968 artwork with Certificate of Authenticity.
MIND GAMES – THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION – STANDARD DELUXE BOX SET
6 CDs, 2 Blu-Rays, 136pp Hardback 10” Book, Poster, Postcards, Nutopian Citizen ID Card.

I’ve ordered the deluxe box set but will never have run out of other things to buy to make me consider purchasing the uber-duber delux with official ‘Mind Games ‘ numb chucks set.

Got the deluxe set coming in the mail. I kind of resent having to make room for a large plastic cube that costs over a hundred dollars, though.
I’m beginning to have to get rid of Beatles things to make room for Beatles things.

Connected to the Ultimate ‘Mind Games ‘ release there is a massive ‘John Lennon ‘s Liverpool’ map available to buy from the official store (it’s also in the uber-deluxe box set). It looks so good it’s the first piece of this kind of thing I have bought in a good while. I like the idea of framing it.
Exclusively designed by fine artist Ed Fairburn, this forty-six-inch square map artwork contains 550 individually numbered locations highlighted in ultra-violet ink. Available folded in a wallet with an accompanying booklet that details all the historical stories behind all the individual locations in John Lennon ’s Liverpool, perfect for exploring the city and for framing.
There is also a video on the map and how it was created by Ed Fairburn.

John Lennon ’s Solo Album Returns To The Charts For The First Time In 30 Years
https://www.forbes.com/sites/h…..-30-years/
Mind Games reappears on the U.K. albums chart this week. Lennon’s solo album lands at No. 39 on the list of the most-consumed full-lengths in the country, becoming a top 40 smash yet again.
Mind Games returns following its highly-anticipated re-release. The album was recently expanded to feature a lot of new material, including remixes from his own son, Sean. Several editions of the deluxe product were made available, with some including lengthy audio commentary on the songs. Up to six CDs were sold in some instances, and a coffee table book is apparently on the way as well.
Good work, Sean! https://www.kshe95.com/real-ro…..acy-alive/
John Lennon ’s son Sean Lennon is opening up about the responsibility he feels to keep his father’s legacy alive.
In an interview with The Times, Sean talks about the recently released remix of Lennon’s 1973 solo album, Mind Games , and shares why it was such a personal project for him.
“One thing that distinguishes my dad’s solo career is how personal his lyrics became,” he shares. “It is like a diary, and it is my duty to bring attention to my father’s music. Not just my duty to him, but a duty to the world.”
He adds, “With the world as it is now, people have forgotten so many things that I never imagined could be forgotten. I refuse to let that happen to this music — it means too much to me.”
Mind Games – The Ultimate Collection, which was released on July 12 and included six different listening experiences, featuring unreleased outtakes, stripped down mixes, instrumentals, demos, rehearsals and even what’s described as “studio chatter.”

The map arrived Friday, will open it later today. Need to find somewhere to put it. I like the idea of it hanging like a museum piece with the guide next to it.

Having been listening to the outakes etc on and whenever over the last couple of weeks I still think the ‘Anthology’ outtakes are the best overall but the alternate mixes/outtakes on this are really fun to hear. ‘Tight A$’ has really grown on me as has ‘Bring On The Lucie (Freda Peeple)’ and ‘Meat City’ with some great lyrics from John (either simply fun or quite honest/biting).
Can’t stand ‘Only People’, which is ghastly in how it is recorded with the mass vocals and the dreadful lyrics, and ‘One Day (At A Time)’ which fails miserably due to John singing in harmony with the backing singers – it’s up there with the worst of Paul’s sickly crap. It’s nice to know John did the “dooopy-doopy-doo” line on the finished track tho, I thought it was just him mucking about in the studio.

This is, um, different.
https://www.kshe95.com/real-ro…..l-release/
Mind Games – The Meditation Mixes, produced by Lennon’s son Sean Ono Lennon, will be available digitally and as a limited-edition three-LP crystal clear vinyl set on Oct. 11, just two days after what would have been John’s 84th birthday (it will also be Sean’s 49th). In addition to the nine Meditation Mixes, the vinyl will include nine 1.8-second mantras that will play in infinite loops.
“You might say meditation is the ultimate mind game. These very abstract interpretations will hopefully assist you in exploring your ‘Innerverse,’” Sean shares. “This part of the Mind Games project evolved spontaneously and feels like it is sprinkled with just the right amount of good vibes and fairy dust. (Effects may vary).”

Havent been able to get any new music lately because I need to upgrade my hard storage (wanted to bolster my lossless Grateful Dead trove and went a little overboard), so I haven’t given this release its due yet, but I did listen to a few of the outtakes I was particularly interested in, and they sound good. Like All Things Must Pass , for some reason I thought this album featured Nicky Hopkins on the piano, but he doesnt’t play on it at all. Not sure why I always though that, kind of embarrassing for me as I have used both albums as great examples of his playing when talking about him with friends. Hopkins does play on Walls And Bridges (along with Elton John and Ken Ascher, the Mind Games keyboardist who does a phenomenal job)
I honestly like this album a lot, and definitely am excited to finally get it in my collection once I am able. Hopefully Walls And Bridges is next, Ive been saving up thousands of dollars for the commemorative sunglasses. 3 times the sunglasses, 3 times the price as they say.
