So, I decided to get a used copy of this CD set that I had been undecided about before.

It’s not bad.  Does anyone have opinions or thoughts on it?

There are 23 songs and about 9 of them really ruin it for me.

These are the ones I like:

# 9 Dream, REM

Cold Turkey , Lenny Kravitz

I’m Losing You , Corinne Bailey Rae

Gimme Some Truth , Jakob Dylan/Dhani Harrison

Oh My Love, Jackson Browne

Jealous Guy , Youssou N’Dour

Working Class Hero , Green Day

Beautiful Boy, Ben Harper

Isolation , Snow Patrol

Grow Old With Me , The Postal Service

Gimme Some Truth , Jaguares

(Just Like) Starting Over, Flaming Lips

God , Jack’s Mannequin/Mick Fleetwood

Real Love , Regina Spektor

It’s an interesting set overall, Ex Tex. Yours is the shortest version of the set. Somebody did me a copy of The Complete Recordings, which I think was released on iTunes. I haven’t listened to it in a while but I’ll try and have a listening session and give my thoughts. It runs to 66 tracks:

Imagine – Afroreggae
#9 Dream – a-ha
Happy Xmas (War Is Over) – Angelique Kidlo with Naima
Love – Audrey de Montigny
Imagine – Avril Lavigne
Oh Yoko – Barenaked Ladies
Beautiful Boy – Ben Harper
Woman – Ben Jelen
Nobody Told Me – Big & Rich
Power To The People – Black Eyed Peas
Mother – Christina Aguilera ft. Bigelf
I’m Losing You – Corinne Bailey Rae
Watching The Wheels – David Usher
Jealous Guy – Deftones
Power To The People – Dj Emjay & The Atari Babies
Hold On – DobaCaracol
Instant Karma – Duran Duran
Oh My Love – Elvira Nikolaisen
Mother – Emmanuel Jal
Mind Games – Eskimo Joe
I Don’t Want to Face It – The Fab Faux
Look At Me – Finger Eleven
(Just Like) Starting Over – The Flaming Lips
Beautiful Boy – Freshly Ground
Mind Games – Gavin Rossdale
Working Class Hero – Green Day
Imagine – Jack Johnson
God – Jack’s Mannequin ft. Mick Fleetwood
Oh, My Love – Jackson Browne
Gimme Some Truth – Jaguares
Gimme Some Truth (Spanish) – Jaguares
Gimme Some Truth – Jakob Dylan ft. Dhani Harrison
Imagine – James Stewart
Imagine – Josh Groban
Jealous Guy – K-OS

Cold Turkey – Lenny Kravitz
Whatever Gets You Thru The Night (Peu Importe Si tu Passe la Nuit) – Les Trois Accords
Whatever Gets You Thru The Night – Los Lonely Boys

Wow, that’s a lot of songs.  Is that still available on iTunes?  I see a 34-song version.

Looking at the US iTunes, there appear to be two versions of The Complete Recordings:

https://itunes.apple.com/us/al…..d302516167

or

https://itunes.apple.com/us/al…..d302313078

Neither appears to be the original 66-track. The first is 61 audio, the 2nd is (if I understand it correctly, never bought from iTunes!), 61 audio and 3 video.

I’d not heard this album until reading this thread, so dug it out of the library at work. It’s very variable in quality, though I did like The Cure’s version of Love. I can’t bring myself to listen to Black Eyed Peas’ attempt at Power To The People .

Can buy me love! Please consider supporting the Beatles Bible on Amazon
Or buy my paperback/ebook! Riding So High – The Beatles and Drugs

Don't miss The Bowie Bible – now live!

Ugh, I know, I can’t stand the rap part…and how he keeps repeating “Power, give ’em POW-er.”

I love The Cure–I’ll have to hear that version.

Hahaha! I’ve still not listened to it. I can imagine how awful it might sound, and I’m sure the reality would be no better.
