Who do you think was John's greatest muse - his mother or his wife (as in Yoko) ???
Was Cyn ever his muse? I don't mean in a Norwegian Wood kinda way. I think she could've inspired A Hard Day's Night . I remember her telling Girl was written for her, but nah, I don't think so.

Two of my favourite John quotes.
- "Well, probably we'll sell less records, less people'll go to see the film, we'll write less songs, and we'll all die of failure". [to be read very much with tongue in cheek] (August 1964)
- "It doesn't matter about people not liking our records, or not liking the way we look, or what we say. You know, they're entitled to not like us. And we're entitled not to have anything to do with them if we don't want to, or not to regard them. We've all got our rights, you know, Harold." (August 1966)

Didn't someone or other have this as their signature at some point?

What's everybody's favorite Lennon solo album? For me, it's always a toss-up between John Lennon /Plastic Ono Band and Imagine .
My favorite is Walls And Bridges .

I think his greatest muse was Yoko. From Yoko's inspiration we get Imagine , Woman , and Oh, Yoko!, three of his best songs.

Yeah, but Julia , Mother ? Mother , IMHO, beats any other song of his solo career. Besides, fans on another forum have said that In my life could've been for Julia - but that's just their assumption. And come to think of it, not a bad one either.
Oh Yoko falls under the granny shit music that John talks about 😉 But I like it 😀

Oh, Yoko! is one of my most listened to songs. To me, it is just an expression of pure love.
I actually don't like Mother that much. Julia is pretty. Supposedly, Yoko helped him write Julia .
People love the Plastic Ono Band album, but personally I think Yoko's Plastic Ono Band album was better than his.
There's plenty of filler on John's album. Yoko's is all killer.

Of course, it can be interpreted in many ways. Personally, I like Oh, Yoko! very much, especially the harmonica bit. But I'm a sucker for such music anyway.
But Mother is something else. I don't even know how to feel about it to describe it. That might not make any sense, but there you are.

My favorites on that album are Working Class Hero , Love, and Look At Me .
Maybe I can't relate to Mother because my parents were happily married.

Don't get me wrong, Mother is a good song. I just don't feel the emotional impact. It's a much better song than I Found Out , Remember, or Well, Well, Well.
God also doesn't do it for me. I rather like Jesus Christ, Elvis, Beatles, Robert Zimmerman, and Tarot cards.

I assume you might not have meant it that way, but my parents are happily married, too. It's not the ability to relate, it's just the music or the pain, or whatever. I'm not Desmond or Molly, but I like Oblada obladi 😀
I didn't mean it that way at all--I don't know anything about your home life (except I now know that your parents are happily married).
Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da is a good song. You can't hear it without feeling happy.
I can feel John's pain on that album. I just can't relate to it and I don't find it to be a cathartic experience.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
Um... yeah... John appreciation...
Last night I was feeling sort of restless and unable to sleep, and all of a sudden 'Oh My Love' randomly popped into my mind.
Beatitude.
