Earlier today, I got the sudden urge to listen to Real Love , the original piano demo* and just now my longtime favourite Past Masters version of Across The Universe . I think something might be telling me to get properly back into John again so I might stick on POB tomorrow. Hopefully this means the beginning of something! a-hard-days-night-john-6

*Don't get me wrong, I love the Anthology version and the Threetles ' additions, but the sped up tempo and pitch bothers me a little. The demo with just John and the piano gives me chills in a good way and I'm glad to have revisited it after a long time today!

Right up there as one of my favorite John songs, either solo or from the Beatles. It's John in a really pure form, vulnerable and full of feeling.

Don't know how long this will stay up, but should you want to hear them, Sean's conversations with Julian, Elton John, and Paul for BBC Radio 2's Lennon at 80 (music edited out):

@Ron Nasty

Fabulous recording

The Empire State Building will be lit up light blue (peace) tonight and tomorrow in honor of John's 80th.

Excellent gesture. Peace is a wonderful way to be remembered, but I choose to remember John as an incredibly complex man who was funny, insightful, depressed, angry and always evolving. In one word: human.

The apartment that John shared with May Pang was for sale. Some interesting photos including the famous UFO balcony.

Yesterday (7 February) marked the day when John has been dead longer than he was alive.

Quite ironic date wise.

What a damn senseless waste.
