I was recently listening to the “Different Kind of Mind” podcast, the “Pizza and Fairytales” series.  They openly speculate that John was in love with Paul, wanted to have sex with him, and perhaps even underwent conversion therapy to cure his homosexuality (under the guise of a smoking cure, that May Pang wrote about at the end of their relationship).  They have reasons to back up their thoughts, though not all of them are reliable.  

I wouldn’t go so far as to say John was bisexual.  If I were to guess, I’d describe him as bi-curious.  If he did give in to experimentation in it, I don’t think it was very often.  As the aforementioned podcasters pointed out, it’s hard to believe that if he had, no one has come forward to claim it.

I heard this too, it was an interesting listen and the 2 presenters are both convinced that John was deeply in love with Paul and state their case pretty well over the series.  

 I find them interesting too, they have a unique approach, but I don’t always agree with them.  I’ve listened to several other of their episodes, and I can say that there are a few reasons to be skeptical of their conclusions.  First off, one of the women is self professed LGBTQ.  I’ve found that people of that persuasion are quicker to see that trait in others.  And secondly, they are both very, very heavily biased toward Paul.  So maybe it’s natural for them to see Paul as an object of affection.

I don’t think it’s that mysterious.  John has said and done a lot of things over the years that might rouse some suspicion, and frankly, Paul has not.  There have also been people making such claims about John, but not Paul, whether or not they are actually credible.  For instance, to give an outlandish example:  Prior to 1980, no one claimed that John was dead, but some claimed that Paul was dead.  Because that was the reported rumor.

People post John had a sexual relationship with Paul and are quite strong on that belief putting up so much so called evidence (stuff they have created from wherever), Paul’s own denial is then put forward as a rebuttal yet it’s merely swotted aside with something akin to “well, what else would he say!?” 

It’s a discussion therefore that will never end. There are two people involved: John is dead so cannot say there was or wasn’t (yet admitted to so much when alive but never this), Paul says no they didn’t yet no one is willing to believe it – well, maybe it was never consumed or acted upon by John.

I don’t believe for one second John had a sexual relationship with Paul.  And I’m sure very few people believe it.  There simply isn’t any evidence to suggest such a thing.  Even the podcasters I mentioned above did not suggest it.  They did seem to think John might have entertained some romantic feelings toward him at times, but didn’t act on them.  But like vonbontee said above, I don’t have any trouble at all believing John was at least a little bi-curious, some of his words and behaviors would suggest that IMO.  That just doesn’t exist with Paul.
