I was just remarking that if my personal thoughts offend people maybe we should stick to shallow topics. Nothing wrong with engaging in shallow banter. As you pointed out, I have done the same. Besides, who is the one who called someone a “total pussy”?
Is that what pissed you off? Calling you a “total pussy”? It was kind of a pussy thing to do. Just my opinion. Maybe next time I’ll try to be gentler about it.

I can respect that. For what it’s worth, I sincerely apologize for calling you names, it wasn’t necessary.

No prob. Sorry I implied you were a crazed, shallow fan-girl.

Ok, im totally confused. Can someone please tell me what the coincidences are meant to infer, imply, suggest, whatever?
Forgive me if im on the wrong track but is anyone suggesting that because John said shoot me in Come Together that he predicted his death?
If im on the mundane level way below everyone else can they slip me the answer. I just want to know what the hell this thread is about without my interpretation which might be wrong and/or based in preconception.
No arguing, no debating, no jumping and shreiking and wailing on the floor like a 3 year old who cant get the sweetie before tea time – i promise.

Wasnt that John in the mid-70’s? He said something to the effect of if theyre gonna get you theyre gonna get you and that he liked the freedom of not having a bodyguard in New York.
If you look hard enough and long enough you’ll find coincidences, strange happenings, utterings and meetings in all walks of life that can be implied to mean whatever you want it to.
Well thats my outlook on it all.

Mr. Mustard,
I’m not going to tell you what you should think of my list. I will say a few more things, though. It’s interesting to me that in “I Am The Walrus ,” he samples someone saying ‘O, untimely death!” and in “Come Together ” he repeats “Shoot me!” Also, I’m reading Philip Norman’s biography and he mentions that some girlfriend (can’t remember which) said John was always afraid of being shot. During the 1966 American tour (after the “more popular than Jesus” comment), firecrackers went off near the stage and everyone thought he had been shot. In “How I Won The War,” when he gets shot and dies, he says (I may not be quoting it 100% exactly) “I knew this was going to happen. You knew it too, didn’t you?” And when Cynthia saw the scene, she broke down crying because she felt that was how he was actually going to die. Also, there is one more dream he had, which I didn’t include in my list, in which he is confronted by a chubby man with glasses, carrying a gun. And just before his death, he said to a friend, “If anything happens to Yoko or me, it wasn’t an accident.”
I saw a documentary in the 90’s which contains a lot (but not all) of the information in my list. It is called “Charles Manson Superstar,” and it is by a Satanist (he is now a Buddhist) named Nikolas Schreck. Schreck (who I believe is married to Anton Lavey’s daughter), claimed that Anton Lavey’s curse was responsible for John Lennon ‘s death, because it effectively “killed the hippie movement” which is what his curse in 1969 (one day before Tate was killed) intended to do.
But I am not advocating that anyone make such connections or believe anything. I’m just putting this information out there because I find it interesting that it exists and that people are discussing such things.

And “Bury my body!”
I, for one, would love for you to continue posting your thoughts, Expert Textpert. And I am very interested in things like the coincidences you and others have been posting. Please continue!

John also said in the early 70s, I believe, that it’s always the peaceful people who end up getting shot, and he cited JFK, RFK, MLK, Ghandi, etc. Still, I hardly think he was foreshadowing his own death at all…that seems a bit of a stretch (to put it mildly!)

I personally have no problem with anyone posting vaguely conspiracy-theorist stuff. Everyone here is mature and intelligent enough to take it or leave it — and if they’re not, that’s not my problem. I mean this is just one little topic in its own nook inside a category on a discussion forum. It’s not the end of the world.
My own two cents is that nearly every famous event has hundreds of details that seem strange about it, and one could go on forever noticing seemingly significant synchronicities about them. I used to have fun with this brand of Waste-o’-Time; but since then, I’ve found more fun and/or more mentally stimulating brands.

Expert Texpert, in my opinion, should repost the “coincidence” he left out. It was the part that set my hackles up. It gave the whole list a different context, beyond simple conspiracy theory. I don’t mind a good conspiracy theory, and didn’t object on that basis. Expert should repost the original first entry.

Indeed. No need to call each other names and to make a big fuss out of this.
Conspiracy theories are something I find interesting, but I don’t really get what Expert means by that whole list. I don’t believe in a curse.
It’s funny though, those things about I Am The Walrus , Come together etc.
Maybe Chapman knew all of that and killing him with a gun seemed the most logical option.
