And so… another one bites the dust! (Curses! That’s some other group!) Glad you remembered the -1, +2 rule variation, and got its use spot on, Holsety.Isn’t it supposed to be -2, +1? Holsety did -1, +2 and then you did -2, +1
The -1, +2 rule variation comes into play when only one point is needed to move a title in play to the defeated list. In that circumstance, to keep the number of points being used (3) consistent, the additional point goes to the Heal move. RS only needed the subtraction of one point to take it out, and so the spare point went to the Heal move.

True, true… but I still like the White Album better. Plus, he has four songs on the White Album – not “his largest slice of the pie,” as you put it, but a great slice nonetheless. (And I have to destroy Revolver before it destroys Abbey Road .)

The White Album is a double album, though. He has one per side, approximately (I don’t think they put two on one and none on another, but I won’t rule it out until I get around to checking).

One per side is correct.
(Huh, it never occurred to me until now- the significance of side one of Revolver as the only Beatles album side with two Harrisongs.)
(OK, OK, forgot about Yellow Submarine , but that’s not even a real album anyways!)

I’m sorry, Von, but that annoys me. This game was thought through when I created it. I looked at the “Rockers” version while it was being played, and I saw problems with it as a player. I came up with rule variations for my version, all of which I had in place from the beginning but one was introduced a little later than planned because of illness. They seem to have worked based on the fact they have been adopted for the “Sgt. Pepper ” game. The other problem I had with the “Rockers” thread was that the list was subjective to the person who created it. I, therefore, went for a completely non-subjective list, that despite my own problems with what could and couldn’t be counted.
I stated this back in the first post, and then restated it somewhere around post 40 when the question of Magical Mystery Tour was raised. This list, with the exception of the one compilation (A Collection of Beatles Oldies…) that they had nothing to do with, was made up of the 12 official albums released on Parlophone/Apple in the UK between 1963 and 1970.
I would rather that with Yellow Submarine they had gone for their double-EP idea, similar to MMT, and Capitol had repackaged it with Lady Madonna , The Inner Light , Hey Jude and Revolution as an album that would’ve been disqualified from this given the parameters of this list, but in the official cannon in place of the version we have to live with.
Just as people on another site playing another game, and that many here have played recently, and has had its complaints about not having things like Past Masters , look at the title! Past Masters isn’t included because it came a long time after 1963-1970. Magical Mystery Tour isn’t included because it is a Capitol that was not released in the UK until 1976. YS is included because, love it or loathe it, it’s what they decided on.
I am just very annoyed that you claim there is no rhyme or reason to my game. If anything, there is too much rhyme and reason, and I refused to nod things in just because I could. I set the boundaries, and I stayed within them.

Good grief mja, it was never my intention to offend you! When I said “the game makes no sense”, I only meant that the ultimate RESULT is ultimately meaningless (outside of the game itself); and not that your meticulously worked-out rules and regulations serve no purpose. And I mostly posted that in a fit of mock-petulance at Rubber Soul ‘s elimination. If I truly thought your game was pointless, why am I spending so much time playing it? How stupid would that be?!
Also, I’m sorry that you thought I was criticizing your decision not to include the Past Masters collections – a decision which you obviously put a lot of thought into. It was intended as a mere observation, but I can see now how I sounded critical. Not my intention, and I apolozige for that. (I too would’ve liked to have “Lady Madonna ” et al released on a Yellow Submarine release that included more than four new songs, but that’s not really here nor there.)
In short, I’m sorry my offhand comment offended you (not the first time that’s happened on this forum, I’m afraid) and I’m sorry to interrupt the thread with derailments like this, and I’ll shut up now.
