Anyone else having issues with the pages loading so slowly, i can count to 20 before each page loads? The text in the bottom corner of the screen saying “waiting for http://www.beatlesbible.com” so there is nothing else going on that I know of.

It’s a captcha. You have to answer the question before you can post. Very heavily used on forums years ago but not so much nowadays.

Um, sorry everyone. I don’t know why the captcha is reappearing – I’ll look into it. I’ve not experienced either of those things though, so it might be hard to replicate.
As for the slowness, it’s something I’ve been aware of for a while. The rest of the site is mostly OK speed-wise, but the forum can’t be cached so often runs more slowly. It’s got particularly bad in the last few weeks though. I probably need to restart the server at some point, but that causes its own issues, and might not fix everything. But I’ll keep looking.

Been having the same troubles lately… Just seems to take forever to load anything here these days… My guess is that it’s conflicting with the adblocking software that I have installed…:-)

Offline While there are problems with speed at the moment, you’re right that your ad-blocker could be making it worse for you.
You could always turn off it for this site, @Billy Rhythm. The ads give Joe a bit of income to help with the running costs of the site. I use an ad-blocker everywhere but here as a show of appreciation for all of Joe’s hard work. It may not be much, but every penny helps.

Offline For more anecdotal evidence, I just got a new iPad Pro, and it is a screamer. Everything processes and resolves much more quickly than my old machine…except the Forum. It is better than on my old worn out iPad, but still noticeably slower than most everything else on the Web.
