Could people please remember that Joe only wants issues with the behaviour of the forum posted in this thread. Discussions about time zones belong in something like the Impossible to Derail thread.
The different time zones we inhabit cannot in any way be described as a fault with the forum.

I just realised that the error message comes up with ‘blah blah blah wp-admin blah blah admin-post blah’, which might have something to do with it? If so, why would that come up? I’m definitely not an admin, as far as I know.

That message happens when a post doesn’t go through, I think everyone gets it once in a while.
Dunno if this will help, (or if you’ve already tried it) but clear your cache and cookies. (And as DO said, try changing web browsers and see if it still happens.)

Offline AG asked Joe in another thread if a new member could change their display name before their first post was cleared, as Leggy signed up as Leggy Mountbatten but had lost the Mountbatten by the time their first post was cleared. It may well have been Joe testing that. Not saying it was but a possible.

(So it would say “1 unread topic” but since the page hadn’t reloaded, it wasn’t actually one, and the pop-up menu showed none because it had to reload the page to show accurate results. Does that make sense? Not really…

Offline @Joe, I was looking at guest permissions vs my regular member permissions and I saw that the “Can subscribe to forums (if enabled) and topics” option is enabled for guests and not for regular members.
For other members, is this option enabled? (To check go to your profile and click the permission tab).
