More threads created = more to discuss as it brings things to mind.

Perfectly said – agreed.

OK, thanks guys. Four people have spoken with unanimity, and that’s enough for me. I’ll get on with spamming the forum with empty song threads 🙂

Totally agree with the idea, @Joe, I think the more of the main site linked to (potential) discussion threads on the forum, the better for both sides of the coin that is The Beatles Bible.

However, may I make one suggestion before you get too far into it and risk broken Google links? Create sub-forums for them so that they’re easier to find. In the George forum, for instance, as that’s the one you’ve started, create a “The Songs” sub-forum. Then people will know exactly where to look.

Just came on to find 26 unread threads. Nearly had a heart attack as was only away for a few hours. Turns out a good number where the new song entries.

That’s actually not a bad idea. I’ve created song and album sub-forums for each member, and I’ll get to work moving things over. It’ll take a while to set up redirects for some of the older threads, so I’ll probably take a while over it (I don’t have FTP access right now so can’t do the redirects).

Ermm, I was wondering why do we have a “thank” option, instead of say something like “like” or “favourite”, because more often than not I find myself “liking” a particular person’s post, instead of actually “thanking” him/her for it.

I like the thanks. (pun intended) a-hard-days-night-john-7

That’s one of my favourite features about the forum, that we thank instead of liking, because it seems a nice thing to say– ‘thanks for making this post, I appreciate it’– and besides, it’s really the same thing anyways. a-hard-days-night-george-4

Besides, I don’t think it can be changed. Disabled, perhaps, but we don’t want that. a-hard-days-night-paul-9

That button is more a like/thank/favorite all rolled into one.

But be careful what you thank cause it’s permanent.

Yeah, but when do sites that auto play music play just the cowbell???????? a-hard-days-night-ringo-8

I think it would be cool if the site dinged whenever we submitted a post and that it played something whimsical whenever we thanked somebody

It might be on the first time but the 100th time while you are playing a song it’ll get old.

The noises my phone makes when I send a text or email never get old, and even when I’m playing music sometimes I like to turn it down so I can fully appreciate the sound of me sending an electronic message to somebody else. a-hard-days-night-george-10a-hard-days-night-george-10

That would drive me batty. In fact I might just go ahead and join the Pink Floyd Sound forum*, because I couldn’t stick around here anymore.

And when the forum you’re on/ Starts playing different tunes/ I’ll see you on the dark side of the moon!

You could make that pink Floyd forum or join another one and build a Pink Floyd Sound House there.

I don’t like that one. They don’t even have forums for all five Floyds. a-hard-days-night-john-7

I did see a few others which looked decent but I’m not going anywhere. a-hard-days-night-george-9
