Questions, questions…
The domain name (beatlesbible.com) was registered on 10 March 2008. I wrote some of the articles offline before that date, and the site may not have actually gone live on the date the name was registered. I can't remember. Doesn't matter too much though – it's still a good date to celebrate. In the early days there were big gaps in the content, blank pages etc, so I stopped Google from indexing it for about three or four months, so it really went public in the summer of 2008.
Yep, it's my birthday on Tuesday – I'll be 35 – eek! We should probably use the generic birthday thread, though, so everyone's can be put in the same place.

Sorry, that was a forum update/upgrade I did yesterday. I didn't know anything had changed, but it's out of my control.

Yep, Chris (Beatles in 3D guy) is a bit of a perfectionist and didn't like the last lot, so he made some new frames. They do look better. I'm glad someone noticed!

Offline I can't post to some threads today, but I can to others.
For example, I can't post to the “introduce yourself” thread. It just takes me back to the thread and tells me I'm not logged in. So I log in again, and the same thing happens.
Any suggestions?

If F5 (Refresh) button doesn't work, try to delete all the cache from your browser. that helps.

Offline This was mentioned elsewhere, but it's worth reiterating. WordPress has enabled all sorts of third-party content to be embedded automatically.
Now, simply copy the URL for the video, pic etc from your browser's address bar, then just paste it onto a new line when you're writing a post.
Content from the following sites can be embedded this way:
- YouTube
- Vimeo
- DailyMotion
- blip.tv
- Flickr (both videos and images)
- Viddler
- Hulu
- Qik
- Revision3
- Scribd
- Photobucket
- PollDaddy
- Google Video
- WordPress.tv
- SmugMug
- FunnyOrDie.com
I've added a guide to making polls and votes, and have updated the YouTube guide. I haven't tested content from the other sites, but it should work.
Don't go daft with the polls – only make and embed them when really necessary. It might be a bit distracting if every conversation gets settled via a yes/no vote.
