Right. Yes, boring explanation (I hope I get this right).
If you're signed in you don't see a cached version of the site/forum, you see the very latest additions (posts, comments, stats etc - actually, I think the stats only update every hour or half-hour anyway, regardless of whether you're signed in).
If you're not signed in, just a casual visitor or a search engine spider, you get a cached version. I can't remember how long the caching lasts - it might be up to an hour, I can't remember. It's to help save bandwidth and make the site a bit speedier, as most visitors never log in. Congratulations - you're the first to spot it!
What this all means is that signed-in people (such as yourselves) get a slightly slower version of the site, but it shouldn't be all that much worse. Unfortunately I can't cache the forum as nobody would see the latest posts and it would be unusable, so it's the best solution. It's probably only an extra second or so on load times.

Ah. There you go then. Thanks Joe.
Do I get a prize for being the first to spot it? Since one hasn't been mentioned i'll pick my own and would like the complete upcoming Mark Lewinsohn tombs all expanded and signed. Thanks.

That sounds like a totally reasonable idea for a prize.
"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been.. I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene.. Banjos! Banjos! All the time, I can't forget that tune.. and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"
Good idea! Send a letter to Mark Lewisohn, Hertfordshire, England, and tell him you spotted a caching issue on the Beatles Bible website, and can he please send the books. I'm sure he'd be delighted to help.

A physical book version of the Beatles Bible would be awesome…
Wouldn't it! I have mixed feelings though. Some thoughts:
1. I like owning and publishing my own stuff, and having control over what happens to it. I don't want to hand over copyright to a third-party publisher.
OH, NO! How many publisher and editions would be involved?
On my laptop, I just tilt the screen back a tad and it's immediately darker. It's otherwise totally readable to my 40-year-old eyes.
I'm older than SatanHimself. Yep, that makes me feel real old. Just kidding with you.
