Offline I heard it the other way, he celebrated his birthday as the 25th up until the 90s when he said it was the 24th. But I always celebrate it on the 25th

George never said that ‘Something ‘ was about Patti, though. People just assumed because it sounds like a love song, and he was married to her at the time. I remember reading another interview where he says that it’s about God , and another where he says it’s about nobody in particular….
Also, if I remember correctly, Patti said in her book that it was about her. But I borrowed it from the library so I can’t quote it.

I think George’s statements are the revisionism of somebody after a relationship has ended, and that he just wasn’t asked about it at the time because the subject seemed obvious. You’re not going to ask a married man if the love song he’s written is about his wife.
You get the same thing with Paul, where songs he wrote about Jane, he now says weren’t really about her.

Thanks for clarifying. I agree with you. Though, playing devil’s advocate, one could say Patti’s the one engaging in revisionism as there’s no way to verify.
