Offline So when is George’s birthday?!
The story (I thought) is that he always celebrated it on the 25th February, but in later life discovered he was actually born shortly before midnight on the 24th.
I also vaguely remember a quote by Olivia, where if you wished him Happy Birthday on the 24th, he would say “it’s not my birthday yet” and if you said in on the 25th he’d say “you missed it.”
How much of that is true and how much is myth?! Does anyone have the original source of that Olivia quote?
Whenever it is, I hope you have a good one George!

Offline @kelicopter here’s how I understand it, based on a quote by Olivia: because he was born during the war and Daylight Savings time was in effect, he was legally born shortly after midnight on the 25th. However, in “real time” (which would include for astrological calculations, if you’re into that sort of thing), he would have been born shortly before midnight on the 24th. So, like the cheeky bastard he was, he would be snarky about it, and so, like the loyal fans we are, we tend to celebrate both days. Gives me enough time to get through his albums.
