Hello! I’m new to this so if this posting doesn’t belong in the topic I’m sorry!

I was just curious if anyone knew about George and Ringo’s friendship after George slept with Mo. I know John didn’t approve of it and told George that it was basically incest a-hard-days-night-george-4

I’ve tried looking up some history about it but can’t really finding anything regarding Ringo and George personally. I hope it didn’t destroy their friendship, I just love it too much!!

On page 237 of Ringo: With a Little Help , Michael Starr states, “George Harrison , always ready and available to lend a hand to Ringo, came through once again [by playing on his new album]. The two old friends had made amends after George’s dalliance with Maureen.”

Also regarding George’s death, M. Starr writes on page 340:

In the 2011 documentary about George’s life, Living in the Material World, Ringo gave a tearful interview in which he recalled his last visit with his ailing “brother.”

“The last weeks of George’s life he was in Switzerland, and I went to see him, Ringo said. He was very ill, and he could only lay down. And while he was being ill, and I had come to see him…I was going to Boston, ’cause my daughter had a brain tumor. And I said, ‘Well, I gotta go to Boston,’ and he goes — there’re the last words I heard him say, actually — and he said, ‘Do you want me to come with ya?’ So that’s the incredible side of George.”

Yeah, they went on to be just fine with one another. a-hard-days-night-george-9 ahdn_ringo_09 apple01heartapple01

As a side note, Ringo was by Maureen’s side when she died. That shows some caring in-and-of itself.

*feels the Georgelove and the Ringolove too*

Not sure if this on-topic, but John did say sex and love are two quite different things, and don’t necessarily coexist–though they often do–and I believe it.

It appeared to be just a “what did you do that for? Oh well you did it anyways, it’s over now, let’s stay friends”.

It killed Pattie’s and George’s marriage and put a nail in Ringo’s and Maureen’s but Ringo didn’t hold grudges to either Maureen or George after it all.

Strange how George held no grudge towards Pattie and Eric when they got together and Ringo held no grudge when George and Maureen got together. For most it would destroy friendships and leave resentment for years.

The ways of Beatles.

Jusst waiting to hear the rumours of John and Linda and Paul and Yoko being true.

I can remember before the story came out (was it Peter Brown’s book?), how the end of Ringo and Maureen’s marriage was portrayed, as if he’d abandoned her and thinking how odd that was.

The whole story of when/how Ringo found out about George and Maureen is an interesting read in M. Starr’s book.

Rumours go about that there was a thing between John and Linda and also Paul and Yoko. And by rumours I mean people making up crap and trying to get others to think it could be true.

Don’t think Linda would be interested in John……….But I reckon Yoko has something on Paul……She called on him first if I recall correctly. Although she’d never heard of the Beatles.

I remember reading in the Beatles’ Monthly how John had danced with Pattie at a fancy dress party and Lulu had bollocked him.

I always remember a Clint Eastwood film, Bronco Billy, where he ran a Wild West show.

He had been in jail for shooting his wife when he found her in bed with his best friend. The script goes like this:

Antoinette Lilly: What happened?

Bronco Billy McCoy: I caught her in bed with my best friend.
Antoinette Lilly: What did you do to him?

Bronco Billy McCoy: I shot her.

Antoinette Lilly: What! What about him?

Bronco Billy McCoy: He was my best friend!”

i’m not so sure that in the years immediately following tha affair nothing changed. note that Ringo had played in all George’s records until the fact and George in Ringo’s. then Ringo reappeared only in somewhere in england and George on Stop and smell the roses. maybe they don’t broke  fiendship/brothership but for some years it was not so strong as before

Some program on TV was discussing the Beatles and how Ringo was the nicest and most forgiving and gave the affair as an example. I don’t really know much else about it. After all they’d been through together, having been friends in the first place, and Ringo’s personality, it doesn’t surprise me. I don’t expect that he wasn’t hurt or felt a bit betrayed. I’d like to know more about why George did this and how Ringo felt afterwards.

I find myself more and more impressed with how sweet Ringo is. I honestly don’t know if most friendships could withstand this. Nowadays, most friendships don’t even last in the first place.

Only music can save us.

George gave ‘I’ll Still Love You’ (a left over from the ‘All Things Must Pass ‘ recording sessions) to Ringo for ‘Rotogravure’ in 1976 but wasn’t able to play (i forget why*); George sued Ringo when he heard the results and it was settled out of court.

And it wasn’t just George who wasn’t on a Ringo record until ‘Stop And Smell The Roses; neither John (admittedly he was away from the music scene and didnt again due to his murder in 1980 but its almost certain he would have done having set aside a couple of tracks for Ringo to record) or Paul would appear on a Ringo record until then.

*Wiki has George busy working on ‘Thirty-Three & 1/3’.

Harrison donated a song too, but because of his commitments to get his album Thirty Three & 1/3 (1976) done on schedule, he couldn’t take part in any recording for Ringo’s Rotogravure. Harrison’s contribution was a song previously known as “When Every Song Is Sung”, which he had attempted to record first with Ronnie Spectorin 1971, then with Cilla Black (on which Starr also played), and later still with Leon Russell’s wife Mary.

George was hugely embarrassed about the affair with mo, but it’s a reminder that no one is perfect. Ringo certainly wasn’t and like george he was constantly drunk and shagging other women at this point too.

Remember harrison forgave and forgot when it came to his friend eric clapton and his wife – That era was rife with cocaine and partner swapping.

I’m more interested in what happened when a-hard-days-night-john-7 flirted outrageously with pattie-boyd_02_gif at the MMT costume party considering they were still working together at that point.
