The first thread I thought of was Songs by other bands that sound “Beatles-ish”, but that probably doesn’t quite get what your after.

Take a look at this post in the thread If the Beatles never existed, who would you be listening to?, the one after it, and a couple of posts on the next page. I just found this thread Best Beatles Influenced Band https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..nced-band/. Perhaps a merge is in order?

@Ahhh Girl. The latter isnt what i’m after as its not ‘best band’ i’m after. The other doesnt really fit either. a-hard-days-night-paul-7  Not even sure a merge would work with these two.

Yeah, I didn’t think any of those would work. It is all I could come up with. So, a thread like you describe would be interesting. Giving the source of the quote would be important.

So, @Starr Shine?, how does 0 + 0 differ to 0 x 0. I think @Ahhh Girl is getting the same rise however it’s calculated! And it’s more than deserved! I vote @meanmistermustard and @Zig should be on a similar level of remuneration!

Although we get paid nothing, what we get out of it is priceless.

I’d rather have the money. No amount of smiles and nice thoughts are going to get my bills paid or send me on a holiday to Barbados for a month.a-hard-days-night-paul-11

Is there a thread about the whole Lennon/McCartney songwriting controversy — about who might have contributed what to certain songs — i.e., if it’s really a McCartney song, did John contribute anything to it, and vice versa?

I did a provisional search through the first 8 pages of the 38-page “Songs” forum section, then working back from page 38 to page 30 — then my mouse got tired…

@Funny Paper, would this be what you are looking for?

Who wrote what songs?

Should we move it to the songs section?

Thanks Ahhh Girl and Zig — wow I totally forgot I even created that thread!  I don’t remember writing any of that at all…  two years ago I see…  Maybe I’m not the real me…!a-hard-days-night-ringo-13

Ahhh Girl, I think it’s fine to remain where it is, perhaps that’s more logical than Songs category anyway.

I realized who the OP was. I didn’t want to give it away. :-)

I’ll leave the thread where it is.

Is there a “Cover Versions” thread? Not a “Cover Versions of Beatles” or “Beatles Cover Versions”, just plain old “Cover Versions”, interesting, unusual, exciting, unexpected, unique covers of anything by anyone.

@Ahhh Girl Do you remember my post from a long time ago with the photoshopped pictures of your avatar stalking Paul’s “first selfie” and mine taking a picture of Ringo?

I don’t remember which thread that was in and feel that I should change my avatar to celebrate Ringo tomorrow!

If I spoke prose you'd all find out, I don't know what I talk about.

I found a song that isn’t mentioned (as far as I can find) anywhere on the site.  It’s one John wrote in Rishikesh and isn’t a serious song, nowhere near good enough to record and release.  It’s called ‘The Happy Rishikesh song, there are several copies on youtube but none has more than a few thousand views.  It certainly sounds like the real John.  I’m wanting to post the youtube somewhere.  There are some other one-off tunes, Commonwealth (unfinished) is one.  Is it just that Joe had to draw the line somewhere? They were so prolific at Rishikesh, I’m sure there are more of these out there. Thanks!

Thanks!  I usually search topic titles only.  Reason being when I was new and searched posts I’d usually get dozens of answers.  I’ll start searching posts again.  Looks like the song is known here so no need to mention it further.
