I wanted to find a post I did recently so I went to my profile and clicked on "Search User Posts: List Topics You Have Posted To" -- but it clearly does not list the one I was looking for (my post on Now And Then ).  This seems odd for something that should just be automatic.  I have the receipts (as the kids say):

Hey, I have a question! a-hard-days-night-ringo-8

I've been browsing for an hour, but what is the OLDEST POST on the fab forum? I found out Joe started up in about March 2008 and the earliest forum post I came across was August 10 2009. (wow, hard to type outside of 2020s!) Does anyone know? I love the nostalgia.

Also I came across a great discussion where Joe linked an article from 2002 about copyright - but that link's dead.

@LucyInTheSkyWithHackneyDiamonds take a look at this post https://www.beatlesbible.com/f.....3/#p155816

If you look at the first 2 pages of that thread, you'll see the mess that can happen when more than one thread is going for a topic. Ick. Not a good time.

Thanks! Wow, 16 years ago! My son is older than the Fab Forum!

I've been trying to find out the exact date of the encounter between The Beatles and disgraced peer (then an undergraduate) Jeffrey Archer.

Pic here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/.....447240.stm

I've read that the pic was taken either at Brasenose College, Oxford, and backstage after a Liverpool show. The former seems more likely, but the two sources that claim it's Liverpool are the BBC and the Guardian - both normally fairly reliable.

Anyone know the truth? And if so, what was the precise date? I'd like to add it to the blog, but can't unless I know when it happened!

I was looking at the top posters and I noticed that moderators don't appear on that list; I was just wondering why that is so?

Joe made a category for moderators so folks would know who they could PM if they needed help.

We are listed across the bottom of the page.

Is there a limit on "Thanks" to a post? I just suppose if someone made a really helpful post, everyone online would "thank" it and then you'd have 10 rows of that grey thank box below the post.

And when someone does reach 1 million forum posts, will the zeroes be summarized into an M or just take up that much space?

Sound like there was quite a scandal in 2015... what happened?

I wasn't around in 2015 but I've read up on (some of) my Beatles Bible history, and I think it might have to do with the "Race to the Rooftop", were several users were trying to get the "Apple Rooftop" rank as fast as possible, leading to many short, dry, noting posts that didn't add much to the disucssions on the forum.

I think the Hurt Heal games section is a good exaple of Nothing posts that don't add much to the discussions, hence why it's locked. (Getting side tracked Sorry)

I don't know what to users Ahhh Girl is refurring to because, 1) I was not around 2) She didn't say in that post. Maybe if you ask nicely (in a pm) she'll tell youmccartney-shrug_01_gifa-hard-days-night-george-10

It wasn't much of a scandal. A few people on here wanted to get to the rooftop first between themselves, I think it became some kind of game, and therefore the forum got clogged up for a short time with posts that offered little except driving up post counts and when that happens everything else gets squashed down and it hinders others from discussions (the recent posts list is where a lot of people go to first). It wasn't that big a deal as it passed reasonably quickly as far as I can remember.

I don't recall that being linked to the hurt/heal games but for a while the H/H games were everywhere and whilst at the beginning they were alright it became a nightmare as there dozens of those - you had to delve deep to even find a topic not involved those. Eventually they got stopped and the the sub-forum got locked; it had to happen, there was no other option as otherwise this place would have became unusable.

Occasionally there were moments when threads or events would ignite for a variety of reasons and we mods have to step in and do something but it's always with the aim of protecting the forum's community vibe - everyone being welcome (except trolls and spammers blue-meanie).

I suppose the biggest happening was locking 'ATN ' which stopped new threads being created which limits discussions. My reasoning for that was that Joe created this place to discuss Beatles related and we mods have the task of ensuring that remains the objective in a positive inviting community. We try to do it with as little involvement or heavy handedness and at times we get it wrong but most open threads in there do cover most conversation possibilities. If people really want to discussion the merits of 18th century wheelbarrow profligation is a Beatles forum the place to do so? PMs exist and there are other places folk can also go.

It was 2 folks who don't visit the Forum anymore. Wish they would. They both had a good side to them outside of the race to the Rooftop.

I think the game is supposed to be like the game "Mafia" (Or "Werewolf") but done in a Beatles theme. Overall sounds like a fun game, I'd play it.

I never expected this kind of mystery... We need a beatles historian or someone who was there; @Ahhh Girl ? If it is Mafia, I'd hate to solve a cold case!

@LucyInTheSkyWithHackneyDiamonds The title of the thread is "Beatles Biscuit Kinda Mafia! Night". Also if you read the spoiler in the first post, Starr Shine? says "Mafia Goon" when refering to the Yoko Ono of the round. I've read through a few pages of the game, and it just seems to be mafia with a George's Stolen Biscuit theme. I think during later rounds they added more roles, kinda like how in some versions of Mafia there's a doctor or sheriff.
