I would start by finding out who allegedly took the picture. Since Lennon changed so much from year to year, you should be able to approximate when it was taken. Just about anyone who has taken pictures of Lennon at this point has published them if they are professional photographers. You can google those photographers and check out their pictures.
Of course you can also post it on this Forum; there are any number of amateur experts here who could probably instantly tell you if they recognize it!

In the end, the only way to know is to let people see it.
An unknown photograph would have value, but not as much as unknown photograph and negative.
However, even if a known photograph, it could still have value. For instance, The Beatles Book Monthly made available photographic prints of some of their pictures over the years, and those are collectable.
Without any idea of the image, or the size of it, it is impossible to say.

Image 84 x 80 mm with 2 mm white border, on the reverse in pencil is written “The Beatles 1964” and printed or stamped with “D 225”. Unfortunately I cant work out how to upload it… Any help? The insert image button doesn’t have anyway of selecting an image, and if I type in its location on my computer it doesn’t do anything…

Insight nonetheless – I didn’t even register that they were in an interview!
I wondered they were in an interview since they look like they are holding microphones of some sort.

Thanks, Ahhh Girl. It depends on the country of course, but in the US, the copyright belongs to the author (or the wire service, if the rights were sold), and that is the case whether you can find the photographer or not. Generally the duration of the copyright lasts 50 or 70 years in most of the world (more info at wiki).
You might try a reverse image search engine on your photo (click on the camera icon and upload) to see if you can find the creator.

Off topic, but it’s funny this came up today – a photographer is fighting for the rights to a selfie a monkey took with his camera.
