I’m really enjoying going through Klaus Voorman’s shop, but this stood out as particularly good

My hot take is that after the Beatles split they went down the paths of spiritualism, solipsism, alcoholism, and Paul McCartney

If you, like me, got notices that posts you made got moved to the Artwork of/by the Beatles thread, this is the thread now. @Joe merged two art threads and updated the URL and thread title.

What sorcery is this! https://huggingface.co/spaces/…..-diffusion

You put in an object (person, whatever) and put “in the style of” and then type an artists name.

Some people here will know that one of my favourite Beatles artworks is a large painting by (Lionel) Barry Agar called The Trojan Horse

The-Trojan-Horse.jpgImage Enlarger

It was used as the dust jacket of the 1980s book The Art of the Beatles by Mike Evans…

mike-evans-the-art-of-the-beatles-bk.jpgImage Enlarger

…and printed on the end pages of the book as well.

It was a recent painting, and only discovered by Evans as the book was finished. It looked to become a major Beatles artwork, and something that the artist wanted to market and share with a wider audience, but it disappeared (not literally) and I always wondered why the artist didn’t make prints and posters of it, stick it on mugs and T-shirts, etc.

And while I knew part of the story of what happened to the actual painting, and where it is now, I didn’t know the whole story, which turns out to be another shabby episode in the story of Apple where they didn’t live up to the promises made. The video also explores the painting, pointing out quite a few things about the Agar’s intent that I hadn’t noticed…

The Beatles statue in Liverpool has been dressed in traditional Ukrainian clothing for BBC filming ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest.

The figures of Paul McCartney , George Harrison , Ringo Starr and John Lennon wearing white vyshyvankas will feature in coverage of the event next month.

The embroidered shirts are traditionally worn on Vyshyvanka Day to celebrate Ukrainian tradition.

Liverpool is hosting the competition on behalf of war-torn Ukraine.

ahdn_paul_06 That’s awesome @Ahhh Girl. I’m assuming the outfits must have been sewn on. That must have taken a lot of effort. Well done!paul-mccartney-thumb_gif I never realized how close the statues are to the docks until I saw this picture (hopefully its not a fake).

Yeah, the building you can see in the shot you posted, @sigh butterfly, is the Pier Head, from where AG and I took a ferry ‘cross the Mersey (and back again).

Thanks AG & RN. I would have been so surprised when I see them for real, I probably would have thought they had been moved.

I’d guess it’s a case of, that of the probably millions of photos of it out there, 99.99% of them are taken from the front, which doesn’t reveal how close it is to the waterfront.

The more I think about this picture, the more I hope the shirts weren’t on the statues very long. I’d be upset if I were on holiday in Liverpool for a short time, and the only time I could see the statues they were covered up. I wouldn’t be able to do this…

This image appeared on Tripadvisor’s Easter reviews. Looks like the lads are back to normal. Nice that someone gave Johnny a bouquet to celebrate the holiday.

Not me; it’s actually Faul.

I’ve seen that illustration too; it irritates me that the rooftop appearance is implied to have happened *after* the Abbey Road crossing/Tittenhurst photo shoot.

(Plus I wish the first images in the array displayed the pre-1962 leather-clad look, but I guess that would require substituting Pete for Ringo.)

Looking at this picture made me think of this thread https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..-a-change/

This artist didn’t use the typical JPGR order.
