Indeed, Father MacKenzie seems a bit young– almost a bit Paulish here– though nowhere near as pretty as this:

Offline So this guy Robert Landau has been documenting record company billboards in LA for years and an article on his book about it, Rock ’n’ Roll Billboards of the Sunset Strip includes a couple of interesting photos. These are all paintings BTW:

West Coast Shaving, which normally sells shaving and men’s grooming projects, recently decided to get involved with a little Rock ‘N’ Roll . They and Fresh Mechanism told Beatles Examiner they have sponsored this graphic project in which they’ve taken 30 legendary rock bands and have had composites made of each as if they were morphed together as one person. The bands chosen include the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Pink Floyd, the Doors, Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Grateful Dead, Queen, KISS, U2, Metallica … and, of course, the Beatles. You can see a selection in the slideshow on this page.

The Beatles one has a strong Lennon-McCartney bias. When I looked at it, I saw Paul first. Then I looked some more and saw John. There’s a trace of George about the hair/ears– I didn’t see Ringo anywhere. Poor Ringo. He’s far out…

Offline And I drew this as a project for a class. It was a sort of contest where we took the words to a poem and added imagery to it, inspired by that poem. So being the Beatlemaniac I am, I drew a picture based on “Penny Lane “. And couldn’t resist adding Paul in the corner.
