Saw it this afternoon, didn’t really like it. When it got to the marketing meeting, I was looking at my watch hoping it’d be over soon. Could have been the German dub though, might have to watch it again in English but don’t particularly want to.
One thing I enjoyed was Ed Sheeran’s ringtone being an Ed Sheeran song.
For those of you who are interested in unsolved crimes and mysteries, I was sad when I saw a photo of Andrew Gosden pop up for a second in the background of the Lime Street station scene on a ‘Missing Children’ billboard.
He’s a boy whose case was treated appallingly by the Met and he could have very easily been found if they had bothered looking at CCTV in the first few days he went missing and told businesses in and around King’s Cross Station to not delete their tapes. Because he had the ‘misfortune’ of disappearing only a few months after Madeleine McCann his case was completely overshadowed, the nerdy-looking teenager isn’t as good a ‘poster child’ as the cute, wide-eyed, blonde toddler. I’ve listened to and read a lot of interviews by his parents and his sister and it’s utterly-heartbreaking to think what they’ve had to go through because of incompetence.
I enjoy Patel’s singing, the man has got some pipes.

I recently went to see Yesterday in the cinema(UK). I noticed when Jack is on the James Corden show and the curtain opens to reveal Paul and Ringo, Paul is barefoot does anyone think this was a reference to the “Paul is dead” theory? (I don’t believe that Billy Shears replaced him)

^ Think it is just a reference to the Abbey Road album cover.
If you take that whole album cover to be a reference to that dastardly hoax, then …

I have two more points to add to this that I actually thought when I was in the cinema but forgot to write down:
Another &$^$£$£ slow version of I Want To Hold Your Hand – I’m “££$&^& blaming ATU movie for this stupid trend, I HATE IT, I HATE IT. Such faux emotional tripe!!! It’s meant to be a cutesy, pop song not some whining pre-teen gazing at their crush in class while they’re being blatantly ignored crap.
On a happier note, there’s a guy called George Harrison who worked on the film, he is a video assistant and did additional photography.

Why do I not remember Paul and Ringo being in this?

Why you gotta hate on Across The Universe though? The way it’s used there is actually very well done.

The context of it is fine, I just hate how slow it is. Reminds me of all those ads/film trailers that take a fast-paced pop anthem and slow it down to ballad speed.
No >:(

Or every cover the Carpenters ever recorded. How the hell can any band turn ‘Help !’, ‘Ticket To Ride ‘, ‘Please Mister Postman into a pile of mushy dull boring unlistenable crap is a mystery yet they succeeded with aplomb. Their version of ‘Jambalaya’ is a song that would make me falsely confess to multiple crimes, sell-out everyone I know, and give out all my personal security details before signing over all my possessions – all within 21 seconds.
But I digress.

I saw it this evening. I quite enjoyed it. It didn’t go exactly as I thought it would, but I liked it.
I thought the John Lennon but was cool, but I think cameos of Ringo and Paul would have been cool, or maybe a George character.

Alternate ending for this has been released:
I can’t remember how it originally ended but this one is really sweet and also Lily James is so gorgeous, it’s so unfair.
I believe they played Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da , and then has a montage of their family. Then he made the Harry Potter reference instead of her.

I haven’t re-read the whole thread and have no plan to.
The BBC have been screening this over the last few night including tonight so caught some of the end. I cannot watch much of it but is ‘Hey Jude ‘ (I was surprised to find an actual Beatles version and not a cover) sped up over the credits in the film itself or is it just from the BBC rushing the credits thru?
I did go online and watch the John scene and leaving all the possible debates, arguments and issues of that to one side, it is quite emotional to see the possibility of John reaching 78 and being happy and content with his life. After all these decades of being a Beatles fan I still find his murder to be a very difficult event to face (outside of a murder case magazine when I was a kid I’ve never read a book or article online or watched anything about it) so the idea of it not happening is in some ways quite… I don’t know what the correct word is.
I also like the advice given of tell the girl you love you love her and tell the truth to everyone whenever you can.
