Liam Gallagher formally from Oasis (Beatle cop-out) has said he wanted to produce a movie based off the book “The Longest Cocktail Party” by Richard DiLello. So far there is a script and he is looking at Johnny Depp to play Derek Taylor.
First off, has anyone read the book? I looked for the book at Barnes and Noble once but was told it was discontinued. So hopefully one of you got a chance to read it.
Second, Johnny Depp as Derek? I love Johnny Depp. He is definitely one of my top favorite actors, but I can’t see him as Derek. Do you guys have other ideas for any actors to play these Apple Corps roles?
If this movie does come into fruition, I’ll see it. But let’s see how it goes.

Offline I read this book when it first came out – many many years ago. Don't remember much other than it was half really interesting and half filler. The interesting half was all about how money was flying out of Apple – at the time the book came out no one really knew as much as we do now so it was rather shocking.

What's “The Longest Cocktail Party?” Is it about the party in Douglas Adams' Life, the Universe, and Everything?

Offline The Longest Cocktail was the account by an Apple assistant, telling the story of Apple's excesses. Basically, it was the first story to tell how stupid Apple was run.
