I’d like that – if it was factual and well made. The casting of Elvis made that movie palatable. I’m not convinced at the moment they could cast similar looking and sounding actors for the four Beatles. That’s a huge part. If they couldn’t nail that everything else falls apart before you even start.

I don’t see an official biopic being in the pipeline. Just too complicated.
I’m leaning towards the idea that a Yellow Submarine remake might be on the table again.

There are a lot of highlights on the Rooftop but Mal turning off the amps during the last ‘GB’ performance and how they all react is priceless to watch; Ringo and Billy keep going (Ringo looks so happy) which keeps Paul going when he sees John stop and look surprised, meanwhile George (the guy we have read thousand of times didn’t want to be there and hated the show) has a WTF discussion with Mal before turning his amp back on.
And with that little issue over with on they go, playing away as if there are no concerns whilst London Police officers continue to wait for the concert to stop.

Another little rooftop moment I like: the boys, in between numbers, all taking a look over the ledge, down at the crowds they couldn’t see while playing for them

Watching Rooftop performances as, well, it doesn’t need explained. Noticed Paul seems to surprise himself after going full out during the first performance of ‘IGAF’; I don’t know if he hurts himself a little after “somebody who looks like you”, if he catches himself off-guard or what it is. By the way, his vocal during this is exceptional.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts on the home release and Apple’s attitude to Beatles collectors. I’m certainly not buying the release as it seems like a complete waste of money.

He’s gonna do a completely CGI remake of Lord of the Rings, with Andy Serkis playing all the roles, and once put through all the computery stuff, all roles will appear to be being played by The Beatles and their inner circle.

Peter Jackson interviewed on an edition of the podcast The Business, released 12 August. After a trail for the interview, there is a news bit about Disney and streaming, before it goes into the interview proper when the timer’s ticked down to about –22:10 (the episode length is 28:31, so about six minutes in). Where things currently stand on an Extended Edition is discussed.

The host, Kim Masters, states, “I know you’re doing an Expanded Version of The Beatles: Get Back …”
Jackson jumps in straightaway and says, “I’m not, no.”
He goes on to add:
I’m fighting to, Kim, help me. Disney and Apple are reluctant because they say — and they might be quite right—that there’s no market anymore for extended cuts. But I know that there’s five or six hours of fantastic material that we didn’t include, and I don’t want it to go back into the faults for fifty years. So, let’s just say that it’s a conversation that’s happening, but it’s not necessarily a definitive one at this point.

I put in a request to Disney+ for them to support Jackson in making an extended version.

The argument by Apple and Disney that there is no market for ECs is bs. There has and will always be a market for ECs. Movie fans embrace them in general and collectors do too. PLUS Disney and Sony will release an EC of Spider-Man No Way Home THIS year in september in theaters. There must be some value for them to do this…
The question is: is there a market for an EC of Get Back ?! Its not something general movie fans would watch and its nothing the general audience would watch. It wouldnt gain as much tracking on D+ as the orginal release did. Mostly it would be for us Beatles fans but how many are there to justify the amount of work and money they’d spend to do the EC and produce the Bluray sets?! I really dont know. From my point of view as a fan I’d DIE to get this EC from PJ. Make it a very nice collectors set with bunch of extras and I’d pay good money for it. Iam pleased with the release we got but to be completly fair I too was hoping for more: Extras, LIB Original etc.
The difference between the deluxe albums and this EC is that the deluxe editions are way more easy and cheaper to be made then this EC. Restoring the picture and sound, investing in editing, sound mixing and so on. It wont come cheap for Disney and Apple to produce this. And thats all it is about in the end: money.
