Surprisingly, i couldn’t find a thread for this so i made one.
1. Yellow Submarine (1968)
This is not just the best Beatles movie but also the best animated film of the 60’s and the best musical of all time. What a great idea, take 7 already released Beatles songs that both kids and adults would enjoy, as well as 4 new songs, and various snippets of other songs, and make a kids film. The animation and art style is superb. This movie is the epic goodbye to The Beatles psychedelic era and is far better that anything else The Beatles have placed on film. If i want to watch a Beatles movie, 99% of the time it’s this one.
2. A Hard Day’s Night (1964)
While Yellow Submarine perfects The Beatles psychedelic era, this perfectly showcases Beatlemania. It’s great seeing The Beatles on screen acting like slightly immature adults, going through an exaggerated version of their everyday life. This is also one of the times where having the film in black and white makes it better.
3. Let It Be (1970)
If there was one word i could use to describe this film it would be meh. It’s a mediocre film that’s saved by it’s historical value. If you want to watch an hour long recording session followed by a 20 minute concert then this is for you.
4. Magical Mystery Tour (1967)
There’s no real plot, it’s just The Beatles driving around in a bus while occasionally stopping and either doing a random thing or having a shitty music video for a 2nd rate Beatles song. And the ending is so bad, it’s one of those rare occasions where the guy who spoils the ending is the hero.
5. Help ! (1965)
While Magical Mystery Tour is bad in a comical way, this movie is just boring as hell. The only reason it was made was as a contractual obligation and as an excuse for The Beatles to go on a vacation. Also, The Beatles were high the whole time, which shows you how little they cared. This is the sort of rubbish that comes out when someone’s forced to make a movie.

1. Help !
While @Dark Overlord is true, this is my favourite Beatles’ movie. They were high, and wanted to go on vacation, but for some reason I really enjoy it. Honestly, I think everything they do is enjoyable. Ya know that video of Paul making mashed potatoes? Yeah. Anyroad, I think it’s really funny.
2. A Hard Days Night
This movie is beautiful. So maybe quotable lines. I can’t think of one scene I like more than any of the others.
If the Beatles were the voice actors it would probably be higher. But it’s still amazing! The animation is just wonderful, while the over all plot is something I wish I wrote. Plus, I love the variety of songs.
and sadly that’s all I’ve seen.

3 Help
4 Let It be

I did not include Let It Be in my ranking, as I have not watched it.
This is one of my all time favorite movies. The story is hilarious. The Beatles are hilarious. Everything about it is fantastic, and no matter how much I watch it, every time I do it’s like seeing it for the first time. And of course, it is the source of iconic moments and lines such as:
1. “By all means, I’d be quite prepared for that eventuality.”
2. John and his bottle of Coke.
3. The bloomin’ bewk.
4. “Who’s that little old man?”
5. “You’re a swine.”
6. John’s dance moves.
7. “I’m Ringo’s sister.”
And more!
2. Help !
It was very hard to choose between Help and A Hard Day’s Night , but A Hard Day’s Night has better acting and is just generally funnier. Nevertheless, I love Help . It’s the Beatles movie that I have watched the most times, and I never get tired of it. This too has fantastic moments and lines:
1. John’s bed.
2. Paul’s organ (complete with comic books)
3. George’s grass and gardener.
4. George’s reaction to Ahme’s syringe.
5. George filling his pockets in the background at the jeweler’s.
6. “Get sacrificed, I don’t subscribe to your religion!”
7. “What’s this?” “A season ticket.” “Oh, I like a little seasoning in me soup.”
8. “I can say no more.” “Please, say no more.”
And more.
I can’t rank this any higher because none of the actual Beatles were in the film (except for that one segment at the end) but it’s a great film. It’s also very funny and has a bit more of a developed plot. Some funny moments/ lines:
1. “It’s all in the mind, you know.”
2. “There’s a hole in me pocket!”
3. The entire Hey Bulldog sequence.
4. Jeremy Hilary Boob, Ph D.
And more.
This movie pretty much has no purpose, but it’s still nice to watch. I have only seen it once, but it wasn’t particularly entertaining. A few funny moments:
1. John playing the cello during the Blue Jay Way scene.
2. Victor Spinetti.
3. Ringo’s aunt’s dream sequence (with John and the spaghetti.)

-Ringo’s skiing
-John sneaking around with the Ringo-Fing-O cutting knife
-George gets his shirt ripped off
This movie is my life. I forget about these things, remember them, suddenly start laughing and have to explain like,
“Famous Beethoven’s famous ninth symphony – HA”

Ya know that five minute video on the Youtube of George saying brackets? Let’s ten minutes of the intermission.

YES. I love that video. I think of George every time I see a set of parentheses (excuse me, brackets).

Not only is the my favourite Beatles film but it may very well be my favourite musical film as well. The Beatles do a decent job of acting despite have no experience and the supporting cast is great as well.
2. Help !
I think this film is a good spoof of the spy genre and even though The Beatles were stoned for the filming they still do a decent enough job as well.
I love the animation, story and the songs in this film but I wish The Beatles voiced themselves.
I like that this film because of how weird it is but I have to be in the mood for it.
5. Let It Be
I have only watched this film a few times. It has some interesting footage and shows a band falling apart and the rooftop concert is awesome.

@silverhammerYT, what’s your ranking?
1. I think YS and Help ! are tied for 1st place.
2. AHDN . I thought it was pretty clever, not my absolute favorite, but I enjoyed it.
3. MMT. I kinda didn’t like its lack of plot (please don’t kill me for saying that) but I liked its artistic value. It was pretty cool.
4. I haven’t seen Let It Be . Really want to, though.

Lol nobody will kill you for saying that. I agree that a little plot would have been nice, but it’s still quite enjoyable and definitely worth a watch.

Me too. VB helped me find it online, and I’ve watched around ten minutes of the rooftop concert, but that’s it. I plan to finish it once finals are over.

5. Help ! – This one hasn’t aged particularly well. Still some great scenes, but feels like more of a contractual obligation than something they actually wanted to do.
4. Let It Be – The rooftop concert always gives me chills, but I’d rather not have to watch an hour of awkward exchanges and awkward playing beforehand.
3. Magical Mystery Tour – A mess, but a glorious and delightfully fun mess. The music video parts are definitely the best here, but it’s still worth watching.
2. A Hard Day’s Night – Witty, well paced, and exciting. Really captures the excitement of Beatlemania. The opening with that chord and the running is so invigorating.
1. Yellow Submarine – Always a joy to watch, great music, and great animation. As @Dark Overlord said, one of the best musicals ever.
I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

What’s so great about Yellow Submarine compared to the other films is that they were able to use previously released songs.

Wasn’t She’s A Woman released Before Help ? Or does that not count because they did’t use the full song?

I’m not sure, but there are plenty of instrumentals of previously released songs in Help , like the one during the ski lift scene… I think it’s You Can’t Do That but I’m not 100% sure.

1. Let It Be
cant beat it getting to watch the Beatles really do their work. While the conditions were not truly organic, its a real treasure having the Let It Be film with the rooftop concert on video.
2. Help
Really funny movie. Laugh out loud scenarios weaved through an extravagant plot. The soundtrack of course is brilliant.
I find the banter and various antics extremely funny, and also enjoy the mind blowing visuals to go along with Beatles Music.
4. A Hard Days Night
the comedy in this movie is sharper than any other, but fails to really capture me with plot. Although it contains many memorable quotes and scenes, the second half really drags.
hilarious antics throughout especially from John, however it is not a very good movie I must say.
